This is a well situated pub and near to all the surrounding attractions. There is a separate entrance for guests. The room was spotlessly clean but rather cramped. Shower was excellent but you needed to manouver around the door to get to the toilet. The bedlinen and towels were lovely and the bed was also comfy. However, although there were several toiletries there wasn't a shower cap for the shower. There was a well stocked hospitality tray. The full English breakfast was excellent but the choices were limited.
The down sides are: - you are near to a busy road and there is no double glazing. The walls between the rooms are paper thin and the guests next to us came in about 12.30 pm, slammed the front door (which shook the whole pub) and then put their TV on once in their room. We could hear their whole conversation whislt getting ready for bed.
This is OK for a convenient one night stop and not as expensive as accommodation in Harrogate, but with noisy young adults coming in late and not thinking about other guests is a bit of a put you off.
Not sure we would return. I am surprised it gets such a high recommendation in its reviews. We didn't eat here.More
