We came upon Jakes by chance - and glad we did so!
A courteous welcome was followed by being led to a table upstairs by polite and friendly staff.
The menu is wide ranging - can really recommend the "breakfast sandwich"- and good value. Good coffee. Delicious looking cakes. Service with a smile. A comfortable experience!
We'll certainly look-in next time we are in town.

Visited here whilst in Harrogate for the day as the queue for Betty's was ridiculous.

We had tea, coffee, sandwiches and some cake to finish. All the food was very tasty and the restaurant was clean and smart.

Reasonable prices. Service wasn't bad but could be improved.

We found Jakeas after we wandered around for sunday brunch, the beautiful looking cakes in the window was all it took to lure us in. One of group didnt have long as she had a train to catch they were very helpful in suggesting what would be the quickest option for her. She had orhingally asked for a croissant but they were still in the oven. After we had ordered they then brought over a piping hot croissant for her as they had just finished. I ordered pancakes expecting them to be American style pancakes but they were English pancakes, they were delicious. Everyone else had eggs benedict and were all very postive about them.

The good at Jakes was absolutely lovely. There was a great choice and a lovely range of cakes and desserts. However our mains came before our drinks which is a big no no in my eyes. Also we ordered 2 slices of lemon pie and when it came we were told only one was available. We then ordered a different dessert and it seemed like they forgot as we waited over 20 minutes for the carrot cake and asked 2 different waiting staff. They also charged us for 3 puddings! I can't fault the food but they defiantly need to work on the service!

We came here as we had walked past it earlier in the day and the cakes caught our eye!! We found a seat upstairs and were served quickly. I chose a strawberry milkshake which was delicious! I then picked a meringue which was massive!!!! They happily boxed it up for me when I couldn't finish it all! Overall it was great and would return.
