Not my first time here. Past experiences have been excellent and away from bedroom service and staffing was excellent, it could not be faulted. Bar prices a bit high :-( . Breakfast was good and large scale catering was alright.
Leisure centre was ok, but steam room would be a nice touch and also to be able to sauna with my female colleagues. Staff in leisure centre very helpful and pleasant.
Bedroom, lacked any view and although comfortable was basic. I has first floor looking over the foyer roof on to the car park. Bathroom was cold and small. Be careful what you leave lying around in room.
I would go back but look for a bedroom on a higher floor and over looking the gardens.

Room Tip: Upper floors, garden side.

My sister treated me to a spa break at this hotel for my 40th. Thought it was going to be relaxing. Rooms ok, bathroom ok but covered in mould, constant noise all night with late night entertainment/disco and dog barking. No arrival drink as stated asked receptionist where it was and it was like pulling teeth in explaining! Apart from that treatments were excellent and hotel ideally located. Although car park is a nightmare and v limited spaces. Visit again-perhaps NOT

We stayed in a upgraded premium double bedroom, which was really nice and modern, it was very clean with a comfortable bed. The downside to the room was that is was really hot through the night and we had to open all of the windows which did let some air in. We ordered room service which was lovley, the food was great, but the tray charge was a little steep at £5. The receptionist was also very helpful and polite. Overall this hotel was lovely and we would stay again - in a premium room.

A great hotel, really friendly staff, we stayed in a standard room which was very spacious, spottlessly clean recently refirbished i think as it was the part of the hotel that had the fire in 2010. Girls in the orchid rooms who did the treatments were lovely. booked with spaseeker £105 each for 2 treatment, dinner bed and breakfast. So a good deal all in all. Would definately stay again.

The smell in the room was like old sport socks.!!!!! tiles in bathroom broken and missing, Paintwork on bathroom door, black with hand marks. The curtains in the bedroom had white gloss paint on them! The dust around the edge of the fitted carpet, had to be seen to be believed, more so beside the bed and bedside cupboards ! Everything in the bathroom and bedroom needs an upgrade !!! We left a day early and will NOT return.

Room Tip: Ask how long ago the room was up graded.!

Dear Reviewer,

I'm very sorry that your room was not provided in a correct nor acceptable condition. It does appear that it should have remained out of service for maintenance works which had been on-going. This was a human error and if you had made us aware on the first day we could have provided you with an alternative room.

I would be happy to hear from you and to have the opportunity to welcome you back in one of our fully refurbished Premium Rooms.

Kind regards, Vince

Stayed here for two nights with my boyfriend for a birthday treat on the Spring Break offer (bed, breakfast, leisure centre access and dinner one night). We commented after we left that this was probably one of the nicest places we've ever stayed.

Really helpful and friendly staff throughout our stay, very nice room and bathroom, lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi, good quality breakfasts, tasty dinner (the desserts here are fantastic). Yes, there's a car parking charge, but I wouldn't say that £3.50 is above average and at least the hotel *has* a secure car park, which many centrally-located hotels do not. We used the swimming pool, jacuzzi and saunas in the leisure centre, all of which were clean and of good quality and it was fairly quiet each time we went. All in all we had a great stay.

The building itself is, indeed, Majestic with lots of gorgeous chandeliers and the whole place has a opulent but happy feel. You get the impression that lots of fun was had here in bygone days! An opinion which was supported by the contents of the lovely book about the history of the hotel which was in our room. Our room was clean and tidy with a very comfy bed and from what we saw of the room service staff they were very friendly and always said good morning.

We were surprised upon arrival by champagne and chocolates in our room which had been ordered for us in secret by a family member and had been organised efficiently by the hotel staff. In fact, we were surprised several times during our stay by unprompted small gestures of kindness from staff members which were above and beyond what was necessary. It's so lovely to experience service like that, as you don't come across it in many places these days.

The hotel is in a great central location and we would highly recommend it (and already have done to friends). As an aside, we would also recommend the Harrogate Brasserie for anyone looking to eat outside of the hotel. We went on our second night in Harrogate and thought the food there was some of the nicest we've had at a restaurant.

We stayed here for a nice get away. Rooms are big and staff nice the hotel is gorgeous but u have to pay for your car park even though it's discounted for guests I think it's a bit much should be included in hotel charge . All in all pleasant experience
