Although the hotel is old and the outside could do with a bit of LTC. Inside was a delight. My wife and I enjoyed the whole experiance. The staff were very friendly. The food was good and well presented. We would and will stay there again

Went to the Majestic with a large group of people for a belated 'new year weekend'. Stayed for 2 nights bed breakfast and dinner, and on the Saturday evening we enjoyed a disco. The food was good all weekend with the breakfast being particularly memorable. All meals included a very good variety of fruit which was lovely.
The staff were very helpful and always pleasant. The rooms were nice as was the rest of the hotel in it's period fashion. Full of staircases and chandeliers, very majestic in fact !
The Majestic is just a few minutes from the centre of Harrogate and I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to visit Harrogate, which itself is very interesting, attractive and full of history.

Room Tip: This is a large hotel so some rooms are a distance from the exit. This may be an issue for people with mobility problems.

Fabulous Victorian hotel in Harrogate a stones throw away from the famous Betty's tea shop. Hotel is grand and rooms well appointed, but if you can would recommend an upgrade. Food in dining room and at breakfast good along with service and staff as a whole.

The Majestic is a beautiful hotel-rooms are spacious and interior is reminiscent of the opulence we might associate with the Victorian ladies of Harrogate. The car park is a decent size, and well laid out. We stayed overnight, and a couple of days on a work related seminar. The staff that we encountered were pleasant enough, but not particularly helpful. Our room was big, and the linens were all clean, though there were a couple of minor glitches with the room prep. Breakfast was regular hotel fare- all quite tasty, but not noteworthy. The 'old school lemon curd' was really more the 'heavily set modern' variety. Buffet lunch was a good, fresh salad with generous meat platter and fish platter, along with a small choice of hot dishes, which my other half enjoyed on day two, but said was only luke warm on day one. Dinner was the table d' hote menu; good choices, and well cooked, though the fish cake starter was somewhat light on the fish, and the sauce on the fish main had a skin by the time it arrived. Vegetables were hot, and not cooked to death! The main criticism at meal times relates to the fact that we were in a fairly large party, and we're seated 12 to a table. This led to very 'cosy' meal times, with little manouvering room, and each table had just one set of condiments, butter dish and milk jug. On the whole, not an unpleasant stay, but probably not somewhere we'd choose to go back to based on this first experience.

Dear hadenmaiden,

Thank you for posting your review of the Majestic Hotel. I'm very pleased that we seem to have catered well for your needs during the conference you attended.

I take your point on the dining tables for your group which was as we were asked but better advised to opt for smaller as we are rarely short of space here !

I do hope you will return and would be happy to oversee your booking if you'll allow me.

Kind regards, Vince

The Majestic is an old Victorian style hotel, set in beautiful gardens and within walking distance to the centre of Harrogate. Parking is available but you have to pay extra but is well worth it.
We spent 2 nights there and really enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious with large bathroom and very clean. As we had a package deal which included breakfast and dinner we ate both evenings in the hotel and the food and service were excellent. The evening menu offered a large selection of dishes and our party were all satisfied with their choices. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and you couldn't wish for more choice. I especially enjoyed the wide selection of fresh fruit especially the mixed berries and yogurt. I would advise people arriving in the late afternoon who want an evening meal to book beforehand as if they are very busy you can only get a table later in the evening.
The only negative point in this hotel is the spa facilities. The swimming pool is small and the changing rooms didn't look so hygienic. The sauna is also in the changing rooms and didn't entice me to go in. The fitness room had lots of equipment but placed far to close together and if there are a lot of people working out it is not that pleasant when a stranger is sat right next to you.
