“Majestic stay”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

We have stayed at the Majestic several times and keep coming back. As Leisure Break members we get an upgraded room if available and preferential rates and offers. We love the granduer of the hotel with huge public spaces and magnificent chandeliers. There appears to be no A La Carte menu but the Table de Hote menu offers a good selection and 3 courses for £25 is good value and well prepared.

What a lovely hotel, stayed on Saturday night, room large and spotlessly clean, great nights sleep.
The breakfast room ,is very impressive, with a breakfast to match.

We'll done to all at the Majestic.

We were both an overnight stay inclusive of Dinner, wine, Bed & Breakfast, We had room which overlooked the superb views of the gardens and Harrogate, The bedroom was large and spacious with a super king-size bed. Walk-in wardrobe with iron & ironing board, the room was very well equipped and with ample coffee and tea making. There was none of the corny, conscience pricking environmental statements with regard to re-using towels.
Evening meal was excellent, we both had the Chicken Liver Pâté , Rump of Lamb with a port wine sauce and Crème Brule. Excellently presented and equally well served. Accompanied with a very nice bottle of Malbec. The staff in Reception, the bar, room maids and dining were excellent. They have been very well trained in customer service to a high standard – a credit to the hotel.
Breakfast equally pleasing with a huge choice and variety to choose from. One thing that really impressed me was that after every diner had finished, the tablecloth was changed, evenings and mornings. Unfortunately we didn't get chance to visit the Spa facilities. Overall an excellent stay and well worth a re-visit.

Room Tip: Room 428 was very good

This was a Groupon offer and was one of our best. The Hotel was very pleasant and the staff were very good. We had two nights and the only fault was lack of really hot water, The first morning I had difficulty shaving as the water from the tap was warm but not enough for a good shave. Second morning much better and no need to boil the kettle, The shower on the first afternoon suffered a similar fate and this did not suit my wife as she likes it really hot. One got the impression the water was not kept hot constantly. I noticed Tractorboy comment about the breakfast and largely agree. Dinner was top quality
Overall this did not spoil our break and everything else was very much to our liking. Hence the 4 stars.

The Majestic is a very fine and comfortable hotel the rooms are modern and well equipped and very clean as were the public rooms .the food offering lets the hotel down the selection at breakfast was good except the cooked offering which was self service and cold with solid rubbery fried eggs and cold plates, service at dinner was also poor. the hotel is very well located and close to the town

Excellent service and very comfortable stay. Would highly recommend this hotel for any trip to Harrogate and the surrounding area.
Also the Beauty Rooms where both my Husband and I had a massage and we were not disappointed.

Very pleased with the hotel in all aspects. Check in was easy, room was well furnished and clean, and bed was comfortable. Meals were well prepared and presented. Breakfast choice was excellent. Good location for the town of Harrogate and within easy walking distance.
