“Fantastic! What a great hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2009

I organised for a group of 9 of us to stay in this hotel and can say the whole experience was amazing.
The reception were extremely helpful when organising the rooms and they also enabled me to see the rooms before going ahead with the bookings. We also had to change our request the week before we arrived and they were fantastic about it.
Myself and 3 friends shared an exec room, which was lovely but not a 'proper' exec room. The bathroom was very big but the room was quite small for an exec room but overall fantastic. We had a dressing/walk in wardrobe & a huge 50inch plasma screen plus an ipod dock. It was great.
I also arranged for the private dining room on the Friday evening and it was amazing. We were able to decorate the table as we wished with name cards etc and they played our chosen music into the room - it was great!
The food was amazing!!! We were lucky to qualify for the two night mini break which came with a complimentary bottle of wine per room and £30 towards the meal. As we had 4 rooms it was fantastic value for money. The duck was amazing!!!!
Location wise it's great - 2 mins from the spa baths and just down the hill from the main town.
We also visited bettys for lunch which was nice but overrated and the spa baths - again very good but be aware it's not as good as conventional spa with a swimming pool etc. it's very small and they squeeze you all in.
As it was a party we hired the vodka booth at Revolution which was very good - the staff were excellent.
Breakfast in the hotel was also exceptional - it was hot buffet style served in the restaurant downstairs. The only one negative thing was the constant smell of chinese food which is served on the evening.
Finally, they had a lovely outdoor area to sit with heaters.
Overall great weekend, wonderful hotel - very accomodating!

My Wife and I were staying in Harrogate for our friends wedding and this hotel was recommended to us. We arrived late in the evening and received a warm welcome from the receptionist before being shown to our room.

The room was and exec room and was very spacious, had all the facilities one could ask for including large flat screen TV, Playstation2, Wireless internet, Tea and coffee making facilities, huge bed, two large windows, large clean bathroom and an electric massage chair!!

The location was perfect, just on the edge of the town centre, so close to amenities but with no noise etc.

Outwith the room, the hotel was clean and tidy with a contemporary style decor, the breakfast was excellent as were the two hotel bars, one with a large lounge area.

The greatest asset of this hotel is the staff, always friendly and helpful and eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible. To give an example, I was due to use my car as a wedding car on the second day of our stay and asked at reception to borrow a bucket and sponge so I could give it a wash in advance of the big day.

The facilities chap, Adam, was called up and when I asked him for the bucket, he asked me which car was mine and then told me to go and watch TV and my car would be ready in 30mins, so after re-iterating I'd be happy to do it myself and being politely rebuffed I retired to my room while he and his colleague went to work on the car and 30mins later it was spotless, and when I tried to give him some money for a beer by way of thanks and he would not accept. Exceptional service indeed.

I am very fussy when it comes to hotels and would not normally go to the bother of completing a review either, but credit where its due, this truly is a great place to stay!

Stayed for one evening at this hotel. Was very good value including parking and full english breakfast in the reasonable price. The hotel is located on a lovely green road just down from the Montpellier Quarter. Around a 5-10 minute walk and you are in the thick of the town centre.

The rooms are of a good standard, not overly luxurious but with everything you need and lovely bay windows looking out.

The breakfast was nice and the place clean with friendly staff.

Would definitely stay again when in Harrogate.

My wife and I got married recently north of Harrogate. We needed a nice hotel for our guests from the UK and overseas to stay in. We couldnt have asked for better. The assitance with the group booking was professional and friendly from all the staff. We booked out half the hotel from the double rooms up to the Orchid and Trimbach Suite. We had compliments from all our guests and we loved the Orchid room. Great bathroom and very good free wireless internet. The location is very good indeed and the staff really couldnt be more helpful. A fab cooked breakfast and nice communal area topped off the time we all had there. Ive never written a review on Trip Advisor but joined in order to compliment the Studley. Many thanks.

I've been staying regularly at the Studley on business trips for 12 years. What started our as a run down but very friendly hotel has improved in quality over the years without ever losing it's relaxed and friendly ambience. The quality of the rooms is now excellent and the old single rooms at the back (which I referred to as the Barracks) have now been converted to excellent doubles. I can rely on getting a good room rate outside of Conference dates.
The Orchid is without doubt one of the best restaurants in the area and is always busy - but they have never turned me away.
Recommended.

We stayed in the Trimbach suite for 2 nights in June and had a very enjoyable stay. The bedroom was very spacious with ample wardrobe space, bath robes, leather chair, flat screen mirror TV, iron & ironing board and 2 large sash windows. There was also an adjoining living room with further flat screen TV, desk, sofabed and another large window making the suite very light and airy. The bathroom was very clean and had a shower (OK) and bath (very small). Ladies, note that the hairdryer is the kind attached to the bathroom wall. It was actually quite powerful, better than most I’ve used, but you couldn’t style your hair with the hose attachment and if you have long hair the hose became very hot to hold after a while. The curtains in the room were also quite thin so the sun woke us up very early each morning. The public areas were all nicely decorated and we found all of the staff extremely pleasant and helpful (even the maintenance guy). The hotel reception doubles up as the bar. We ate at the hotel’s Orchid restaurant and it was excellent; some of the best oriental food we’ve had and the service was also very good. The restaurant was very busy when we were there (Sat night) and the atmosphere was ‘lively’ not ‘quiet and romantic’. Some would say it had ambience, others would say it was noisy. Breakfast was also taken in the restaurant and was very good. The hotel is in an excellent location on a quiet road. Valley Gardens (a beautiful large park) is only a few metres away and the shops a couple of minutes walk. The car park is small but we easily found a space and there is also parking on the road at the front of the hotel.
