We stayed here 23/2/14 last night , i have to say that we had the most amazing time, afternoon tea was so tasty, plentiful. then we booked a meal in the restaurant which was gorgeous. Breakfast was just as pleasing , Rooms were very clean with gorgeous white linen sheets , large warm and cosy, with slippers robe and chocs,.shower was fantastic The biggest COMPLIMENT is the staff, We were made to feel very welcome from the first minute we checked into the hotel. The level of service was first class and was consistent for all our stay. I would just like to say a very bigThank You from your guests that stayed in room no 244, xxx Brenda an Neill xx

This hotel is fantastic. I checked every corner for dust and couldn't find anything - even with the microscope that I carry for my hotel inspections .

Even in my first incarnation I Could not have created food as good as this. Escoffier is an amateur compared to these guys.

The receptionists weren't just friendly, they were really attractive . I asked one of them to spend the night with me , and she said yes! Now that is service!!!!

I checked out, replete, happy and fully satisfied. I walked out of the front door, self combusted and disappeared in a puff of my own self importance.

We visit this hotel a couple of times a year and have never been let down. Although we were given a small room, last visit we were given a suite and spoilt, it was perfect. Clean, comfortable and little extras. The staff again were superb, friendly and polite at all times. Thank you for a lovely break, counting down to the next one.

Stayed for one night in February this year? Hotel very charming with staff helpful in everything we asked for.The only complaint that we had was that the bedroom was very small for a 5star hotel although the bathroom was huge! We noticed that the television was sloping on the table it stood on and The door had a half inch gap at the bottom and light flooded in under the floor making the room bright when all the lights were off.We put a towel under the door to stop the light coming in and came to the conclusion that the floor was unleavened and everything was on a slant ! Overall this did not spoil our stay

Room Tip: check out room before you unpack

Thanks for your positive comments, all of our bedrooms are different in terms of size and layout, I would encourage reviewers to let us know whilst they are with us if they are not happy and we will do our best to ensure they are comfortable.

I booked this through Secret Escapes for afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast, for £99, and it was lovely. We had a corner room with double aspect windows overlooking the front of the hotel, and it had a lovely homely feel about it. I think there are 3 things that would make a difference though, crisp white linen and a duvet on the bed, a glass screen for the shower instead of a curtain and some new fluffy bath towels. That said, it would not put me off going again, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food in the Wedgewood was excellent and very well presented, the room is amazing. The afternoon tea is a must, I have to be gluten free and surprisingly it wasn't a problem, sandwiches, scone, jam and cream and other lovely cakes.
The hotel is going through some re-furbishment which is needed in some areas, and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a stay and shopping.
