“Harrogate s little secret”
Reviewed 2 March 2014 via mobile

Great friendly service from professional people. We entered the cafe and made use of a voucher purchase from one of those sites. We enjoyed the wonderful pleasant waitress who explained everything and order far more that you should for lunch. The Palm Court ploughman was excellent but could have done with a larger plate as there was so much.
Attentive service throughout.
Far more temptation than anyone should have but great to have a choice.
Thank you for such a nice pleasant lunch.
For those reading all reviews please avoid Cardamon Black as this is the total opposite to what you get here.

“Lunch treat”
Reviewed 12 December 2013

We had lunch at the palm Court today with some friends. The establishment is on the first floor above Farrah's sweet shop. It was initially busy and we waited even further upstairs (we could have eaten up there) but a window table became free and we moved back down. I had an excellent soup and the rest of the group had a Yorkshire rarebit with an really good salad. The drinks were good and the ambience and the view from the tables overlooking the bottom end of the Stray is very pleasant. I have a a few niggles in that one of the rarebits had extra bacon and that dish had a much smaller salad and the toilets are on different floors. The Americanos came with espresso in a cup and a jug of hot water to pour on - I've never seen them served that way, the taste was fine but it is odd. Despite all that it is good, but not if you have bother with stairs

“Lunch Stop”
Reviewed 11 December 2013

My friends and I stumbled upon this gem of a place and ate lunch on Saturday. Three of had toasted open sandwiches all unique as the toppings were very different from anything we have been offered in restaurants before. One of us had Pate it was homemade and delicious. Cakes were amazing and the tea complimented everything beautifully. We bought cheese scones to take out and had them for breakfast next day. On Monday before travelling home we went to buy more scones, cheese and olive this time for the journey. The waitress even buttered them for us and packaged them up. Forget "Betty's" you must try the Palm Court.

“Delicious cakes”
Reviewed 30 November 2013 via mobile

We popped in for a coffee and a cake while in Harrogate for the day. We sat on the second floor as it was very busy. The young girl who waited on us was extremely hard working. The coffee and cakes were delicious and the cafe is obviously very popular. My only negative comment is regards the ladies' toilet which appeared to have not been checked for some time. The bin was overflowing to say the least! Spoilt a favourable impression.

“Regular visitors!!”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

We are regular visitors to Palm Court which is upstairs in Farrahs at the bottom of Montpelier in Harrogate. We call in for coffee and scones or their Tea bread - and our favourite lunches are jacket potatoes or Ploughman's. Every lunch is beautifully presented - very appetising and just the right size portion. We love the fact that it is open every day of the week. A browse and purchases in the shop downstairs follow our visit to Palm Court.
