This was a small museum but a little over priced for what it was which was only two rooms really. staff were very pleasant.

“OK but small and not really worth the money”
Reviewed 16 November 2013

Waited till 10.35 in the cold, door opened by unsmiling staff member. Made a joke about being left outside but she did not laugh. Opens at 10.30. Almost walked away. Very small museum not much to see but interesting bits. Went to see Downton dresses on display very nice but not many, expected more from the advertising. Could actually see the display from the doorway without having to go in. Ought to be free.

“Small, intimate museum”

Loved seeing the dresses from Downton Abbey's Season One - wasn't expecting that. Fun to read about the history of Harrogate.

“OK, but nothing special”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

Was perhaps expecting a bit too much but found the museum slightly boring.
Video at the end was of such poor quality that it couldn't be heard so complete waste of time.
Would have preferred more about Harrogate and the springs.
Not sure what the egyptian bit or Dowton costumes was all about!

“Very good museum filled with history.”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

Not a bi museum but worth a visit if you visit Harrogate, when we visited it had the costumes from Downton Abbey on show. Many facts and information about how Harrogate became very popular as a medicinal area for many people to visit to cure them of the illnesses, as the natural springs and wells were full of minerals. Very well kept museum and less than a £5 to look around so not bad value.
