We stayed for two nights in this wonderful Victorian guest house. Our double front of house bedroom was tastefully furnished and although the on-suite bathroom was on the small side it was more than adequate.
Tracey & Andy (our hosts) are delightful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Parking right outside is convenient with just an easy short walk into the centre. Highly recommended.

We stayed for one night only prior to visiting Harlow Carr, the RHS gardens, the next day. This is a very friendly place, super clean and lovely breakfast cooked to order.
As others have mentioned it is an old house so you do hear some creaks and the shower room was small but perfectly adequate.
Parking was disc parking on the street just outside the house.

Thank you for your kind comments, "super clean" is something we always love to hear! The previous two reviews with yours, regarding a creaky floor are all related to the same shower room in the same room, our large king sized room. We are therefore going to have this looked into. Once again thank you for all your kind comments and we hope to see you again when you are next visiting RHS Harlow Carr. Best wishes, Andy & Tracey

Stayed in the top room as it was the largest and had the biggest bed. As others pointed out the bathroom very small and creaky but it is an old house!

Breakfast each day was superb. Freshly squeezed orange juice placed on the table without asking, that is service. I asked if skimmed milk could replace normal milk supplied and not only at breakfast was the skimmed milk waiting but also supplied in our room for evening cup of tea. Greatly appreciated. Delicious home made marmalade served. The haddock was devine as expected. The breakfasts kept us going all day, so filling and tasty.

The B&B in a very congested part of Harrogate but owners supplied us with a parking permit for however long we wanted it for, even on day of departure. Five minute walk to the train/bus station and all the lovely shops etc. Harrogate is such a lovely place to visit, it is not our first visit and will not be our last.

Room Tip: The top room as you will hear no one walking around. It is up 21/2 flights of stairs though so if y...

Thank you for your lovely review - we are delighted you enjoyed your stay so much especially breakfast (yes the haddock is delivered from Grimsby and always a popular one!) and the extra milk service etc provided - we do try to go the extra mile. We would query "congested" (not one we've heard before in 15 years but there you go!), as Wynnstay is on a quiet tree lined street but as you say it is just a five minute walk to bus and train stations and all the lovely shops and restaurants, and our complimentary permits make it easy to park. Thank you for the info on room tips - we have never actually counted the stairs but will take your word for it! We are, of course, a B&B in a Victorian House and do not have a lift but we guess that's one of the reasons people book us instead of a chain hotel, for a more individual stay - we would point out to everyone that we always offer to help carry luggage for guests and we do only have a first and second floor - we are not a sky scraper! Thank you again and we hope to rustle up some more delicious breakfasts for you next time you are in Harrogate. Our best wishes Andy & Tracey

Friendly place, well run, pretty easy to find, not far from the town, large room and good food - downside - floor of the very small bathroom sounded like pistols going off when you walked on it and when you walk on it in the middle of the night that doesn't endear you to your partner - sounds like a small thing but then it wasn't the cheapest of rooms. By and large though - nice people, nice spot and you could do very very much worse. Harrogate? Well, we went up with something specific in mind which is probably the best way to go to Harrogate

Thank you for your kind comments and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. With regards to flooring, Wynnstay is a large Victorian house and the odd creak here and there does happen. Unfotunately as simply a B&B none of our shower rooms are huge, as you would expect to find if you booked a hotel, and in this very large room, especially for a B&B, it is understandable that the shower room seemed out of proportion – we do endeavour to offer as much comfort as possible with the power shower and, as many reviewers mention, our exceptional levels of cleanliness. On the note of cost, we are not the cheapest B&B in Harrogate as clearly we offer high quality rooms with our Award Winning Breakfast and central location however Harrogate, of course, is a cosmopolitan Spa town offering a high standard of accommodation and therefore not a bargain basement place to visit anyway. On that note, we are sorry that you feel Harrogate is not worth a special trip – having chatted when you stayed, we do understand that you are used to a more rural area however we do find that guests generally find it a great base from which to combine exploring the Dales and enjoy a stylish Victorian town, offering a host of restaurants, boutique shops and Award Winning gardens – we do hope you will give it another chance at some point and that we have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future. Our best wishes Andy & Tracey

Spent two nights last week at this lovely B&B. Beautiful house, spotlessly clean.
5min walk to town centre. Both Tracy and Andy are lovely people, very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, (thanks for the fresh milk)
Great breakfasts with a wide choice available, if did not want full breakfast,
We both loved it and the room we stayed in was charming and with a very comfortable kingsize bed.
Big thank you to Tracy for ringing us to let us know my husband had left his chain in the room and was extremely helpful in making sure we got it back.
Highly recommed it!

We spent two nights at this B&B in August. Spacious room well furnished with King size bed, large screen TV and good shower. A very minor issue was the slightly creaky floor in the shower room.
The breakfasts are excellent. I particularly enjoyed the smoked haddock. Andy and Tracey are very friendly and welcoming. Parking is no problem. Within short walking distance of Betty's Tea Rooms.
Highly recommended.

Andy and Tracey were warm welcoming and helpful especially with the parking situation. The room was delightful although the bathroom was a tiny bit cramped. This was more than made up for by the beautifully cooked breakfast which got my birthday off to a flying start. We both loved it! The guest house is conveniently located for the centre of Harrogate and I would recommend Wynnstay house unreservedly and would certainly stay there again.
