“CLOSE TO BUS STATION”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

Just missed a bus and so decided to look inside the cathedral which is just around the corner. Free entry supported by donations by visitors. Some parts of the Cathedral such as the Crypt date back to Saxon times. Well laid out with good exhibitions that put some aspects into context.

“Fabulous cathedral”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

I loved this place - it is a real mix of historical styles from the spooky Saxon crypt to the modern entry...very helpful and pleasant staff and a terrific embroidery exhibition on at the moment.

“Very beautiful cathedral”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

When friends of mine took me to Ripon, I never expected to visit such a beautiful cathedral. From stunning sculptures and glass-stained windows, it is worth the visit! Perhaps you will even catch a glance of the choir practicing, which fills up the building with lovely music!

“Great acoustics”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Went to Eucharist service and had a visiting choir (Rectory Choir from Durham if memory serves correctly). As always the service reception and atmosphere was just right - friendly but not over the top. We were absolutely blown away with the acoustics. This made everything that much better.

“Peaceful, thoughtful venue”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

Ripon has a market on Fridays, so a good day to visit. There are plenty of small interesting shops too, but the Cathedral is well worth a visit - friendly staff and a small exhibition about links with Lewis Carroll. There was also an exhibition of beautiful needlework when I visited.
