We stayed for two nights bed only and had a beautiful room towards the end of the hotel with private access from the street. The room was immaculate and very well dressed, the bathroom was perfect and one of the best showers I have ever used. We cannot comment on the other facilities or food but I only hear good things. Would stay again!

We stayed here on the advice of a business colleague. I would simply state that the room under reception should NOT be used as a room. Constant noise from above. It is stated on the website and my PA was advised but I was not. Irrespective of the website it is wrong to ask people to pay for this room.

There is so much right about HDV in Harrogate. We had a lovely room (a studio room) with a great bath, shower and fab balcony. The staff were great and the spa really relaxing. The only fly in the ointment was that the rooms feel like they could do with a spruce up - scratched floors, tired curtains faded paint can be seen. Don't get me wrong, the rooms are still great, just a little tired for the money. Equipment is the same - the TV's are big CRT units rather than LCD flat screens, not in keeping with the cost and the little features such as sound systems that you get in other boutique hotels are notably absent. We ate breakfast and an evening meal in the bistro - both were excellent. I would definitely stay again - hopefully after they've next redecorated!

This hotel has it all, location, location, location. Slightly overpriced across all levels including room rate, food and drinks but £10 a night for parking is extortionate! They tried to charge me for 3 nights parking when I parked in the road one nig out of three. My main concern was that I was placed in a disabled room on the ground floor, I checked this with reception and offered to move incase someone really needed the room and was told no need as if someone who needs it tries to book they can't because I have the room. Did make me feel uncomfortable.
In summary, nice hotel for a treat but does need to think about a lick of paint in the rooms.

Stayed in the Ravenswood Studio to celebrate my wifes birthday. Good size, with seperate lounge area. The signature Monsoon shower and slipper bath were superb. We eat in the Bistro on the second night, service and food was good. The breakfasts were excellent !! Our only disappointing thing for the weekend, was that there was a large stain on the sofa and footstool in the lounge area, which was rather off putting.

The wife and I stayed for just the one Saturday night on the 16th November as a little break that we felt we owed ourselves... We had a really nice relaxing time, Aly had a treatment in the Spa with apparently was very nice and we then had a meal in the bistro, this is where a nice time turned into a extremely enjoyable evening, the Bistro Manager Steven and his staff were true professionals and the food was superb, if your staying here and are thinking of going out to eat, think again, it was that good.....
If Im honest, the room ( Meerlust ) was perfectly nice, but not fabulous, I think maybe more details of the rooms could be shown on the website, I would have maybe chosen a larger one if I could have compared...But overall a very positive experience....

My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary and we stayed for one night. I think we stayed in the same room as VALXXX because the bed was huge and we had two baths. The staff were very friendly and professional. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful and the evening meal was good. We have been to the Brighton Hote du Vin a lot and would say that they compared well, although I think the restaurant in Brighton has a little more character!!
