I know most people comment AFTER they stay, I wanted to share experience of recent visit to check out for possible future stay - I take my research seriously! The hotel presents very impressively after the understated entrance and we were welcomed immediately by Ophelia who deserves a special mention for her helpfulness, cheeriness and overall enthusiasm - she is an excellent ambassador for the Hotel. When we explained we wished to to check out rooms for a future stay, she could not have been more helpful or accommodating, even though the Hotel was obviously very busy, she took the time to show us a range of rooms, which would meet our needs. The hotel is chic, busy, immaculately refurbished from its previous incarnation - we know, because we stayed here 8 years before. We are definitely booking for a weekend and will report back. xx

Room Tip: Lower ground floor ideal if you have a pet, we particularly liked Catena and will probably book. Also like Raoul Collet for decadent luxury and Wet room, good for those with limited mobility

We stayed at this hotel for 2nights. It was booked to give us some quality time away from the day to day stresses. We arrived eventually after 4 times around the block !!We booked in and the porter took our bags from the car and hung them up in our very spacious bedroom. He showed us around the room and explained how everything worked. I could have spent hours in the most fantastic shower, the bathroom was seperate eith a free standing bath.We went to the very well stocked bar and had fantastic food in the restaurant. All the staff made a special effort to make our stay memorable. It was excellent and we will be visiting again soon.

Room Tip: Ask for the special showers. Every one was talking about it over dinner

Sayed at a number of HdV and enjoyed usual good experience here - "geoff merrell" room v nice. Harrogate HdV a great location for centre of town .. shops and restaurants .. and we used as base to drive out to dales.
Didnt experience the spa or bistro as we went out to number of resturants in town .... try the Mirabelle ... 5 min walk

Room Tip: Large double facing the stray on second floor - "geoff merrell" ... very nice

My girlfriends and I enjoyed a gorgeous lunch today and we all dined from the set menu giving two courses and coffee for £12.95.
The food was beautifully presented and very good value!
Chicken liver parfait with plum chutney and brioch followed by steak and frites was my choice and absolutely yummy!
