On a warm day it was nice to just sit in the shade with pretty gardens all round. Proximity to town meant a short stroll from the centre of town to the gardens. Lovely.

I had hours of pleasure on the stray when my sons were small, playing football, having picnics and visiting the fair. There are lots of attractions set up here at various times of year. I still enjoy walking among the lovely trees and well kept grass. Please if you visit take home or bin your rubbish so as to maintain the tranquillity. A place of true beauty that cannot be built on,a gift to Harrogate and well appreciated.

I walked up to the stray from the town centre and was not disappointed. Apparently there is a law that forbids any building in this area and it is a lovely entrance into Harrogate. ....and a little sewing room all by itself in like an old gatehouse...they must get plenty of orders as they have been there years. I just love Harrogate.

Lovely, well kept, open spaces where sheep uised to graze long ago. Fell off one of the benches when a small girl, cut my hand and still have a scar. That's the only downside.
