“Brilliant B&B”
Reviewed 1 June 2014 via mobile

This was our first visit to Harrogate and we're so glad we chose to stay at the Acorn Lodge. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night.

On arrival, we were given a warm welcome. We parked on the road so we were given a permit to make sure we wouldn't get a parking ticket. The next day I put the car in the car park which has space for about 4 cars.

The room was nicely decorated and very clean. The bathroom was very small but had a toilet, sink and shower so was fine for us. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were a bit harder than I would have liked. The room had free Wi-Fi although it was playing up on the Saturday. To be fair, the owners put a message up apologising and explaining that it was caused by the service provider.

The location of the B&B was perfect, with a 5 minute walk to the centre of the town, so the car didn't get used all weekend.

Breakfast was very nice, we both had Full English's and were offered extra tea and toast. The couple who own the B&B's young daughter was an excellent waitress. There was also an honesty bar in the lounge which was very well stocked and was perfect for a night cap after a night enjoying some of Harrogate's pubs!

Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this B&B to friends and family in the future.

Put simply one of the best B&Bs I have stayed in. The room (room 4, twin) was beautiful- gorgeous bay window overlooking a leafy quiet street, beautifully decorated, great modern bathroom with massive shower head, spotlessly clean! Comfy beds with soft duvets. Really friendly welcome from Phil. As we were arriving at Harrogate in the morning we emailed them and they kindly let us check in early so we were all sorted and able to explore beautiful Harrogate. Execellent location, short walk to the main parts. Parking available. And a delicious breakfast with perfect poached eggs! Ticks every B&B box and then some, only sad that we stayed just one night. I'm sure we will be back.

Room Tip: Room 4- twin room with beautiful bay window overlooking the quiet, leafy cul-de-sac. Nicely decorat...

Just had a wonderful weekend stay, our hosts were very friendly and helpful and we must give a mention to mini waitress, Lola, what a star.
Next time we are in Harrogate we will certainly be staying here.

Booked for three nights during week and enjoyed a great stay. Welcomed from start to finish of our break and it felt like we were in our own home.Room was great size, clean and tidy with comfy bed. The breakfast was a brilliant start to each morning and very fresh. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone.

The owners of this beautiful accommodation are very friendly and welcoming. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet allowing me to totally relax after being out all day. Breakfast was good and my dietary needs were catered for.

Room Tip: Choosing a room on a higher floor means a quieter space.

We stayed at the Acorn while attending a Yoga convention in Harrogate and I have to say it was the best Guest house I have ever stayed in (and I travel a lot). The convention centre was literally around the corner. We had early starts and long days so sleep was important. The guest house was in a quiet cul de sac in a beautiful residential area. The rooms were quiet. The beds were really comfortable. The house was spotless, the rooms were warm. The furnishings modern, yet cosy. The shower was awesome! There were three of us and being typical health conscious yogis we had all sorts of dietary needs. We couldn't believe how good the owners were in accommodating us, providing gluten free cereals and breads, divine fruit salads, vegetarian breakfasts, soya milk for vegans..the breakfast was fabulous! And the best, proper, filtered decaf coffee..(and it is difficult to get good decaf). The owners made us feel so welcome..a genuinely beautiful family. This place is special!
