“Beautiful Modern Hotel”
Reviewed 20 November 2011

The White Hart is a four star hotel in the centre of Harrogate. It enjoys a wonderful location opposite the stray, which is a park in the town centre, and adjacent to the amazing shops of Harrogate. Just a two minute walk from the world famous Betty's cafe. We had a perfect stay here, it met all our expectations. The rooms were large, and the beds comfortable, flat screen tv's and every convenience. The award winning two rosette restaurant is serving amazing food, and the service is attentive and friendly. There is a very friendly pub at the hotel, The Fat Badger, which is welcoming and relaxing, with a wonderful atmosphere, which also serves very good food. I didn't avail myself of the afternoon tea but it looked superb, every bit as good as Betty's and far less expensive, and no queues! An added bonus is the large free car park. For those of you who haven't been before, this is very rare in the town centre, as parking is dififcult and limited in the town. I have no hesitation in recommending this superb hotel.

I stayed here to attend a wedding ceremony at the hotel bot,h the civil ceremony and the reception. The rooms were clean tidy and comfortable with plenty of room. The reception food was very good. I also went to the adjoining bar which has recently been opened and it seemed the place to be in Harrogate.

To read some of the other reviews posted you would be forgiven in thinking the White Hart had little to offer the disserning traveler.Well let me reasure you it is infact a warm and wellcoming Hotel that has and is being thoughfully refurbished. The rooms were of a good standard and were bright and very clean .Every modern convenience, provided as standard such as free Wi-Fi, excellent parking and a good selection of TV viewing. A good management tool is used, in that you are invited to comlete a simple questionair after meals when vacating your room well done to all at the White Hart, As an aside I feel the manager should reply to items posted in Trip Advisor to give a balenced and more helpful overal review and in part explain or thank the reviewer. well done and thank you for pleasant stay

Room Tip: Feel free to make requests, more often than not the staff are pleased to help, and to give you a qua...

The hotel is in an ideal location far enough from the hustle of the town centre but within a short walking distance. Set in the middle of the lovely Montpelier quarter. Perfect place to stay if you want the 4 star quality at great value for your money. We slept in room 315 which was in very good condition and great sleeping quality with a very low noise level. The breakast was of a high standard with a good choice of hot and cold food. We used the restuarant which is of the highest standard and affordable prices with excellent service. Harrogate is an ideal place to visit with lots of places to see and to eat.

Room Tip: Room 315 at the front of the hotel with views of the town.

We have just returned from a 3-day stay in Harrogate during which we ate at the restaurant on two nights as the food was absolutely superb. The Bits and bobs sharing platter was fantastic (pate, olives, chorizo, ham, pork pie, salad, gerkins, slabs of cheese, chutney, lightly toasted ciabatta). With the excellent wine, this would have been enough on its own ; we had to ask for half of it to be packed to take away so that we could enjoy the main course! Added to the quality of the food was the attentiveness of the staff who made it an all together enjoyable experience.

We were not booked in to stay at this hotel so could not offer an opinion on the other facilities. However, the Fat Badger bar was extremely popular on both nights we were there so it is possible this could impact on the quality of sleep for those who like to get to sleep early.

I love having afternoon tea in Harrogate! This time... I decided to try something new... Well, I was not disappointed!
I took with me my cousin. We had 2 hot chocolates (lots of marshmallows...): delicious. And a chocolate cake to share. The cake was warm and cooked to perfection, the presentation was excellent. Even if you are not hungry, you will want to eat it!
Service was very attentive without making you uncomfortable. The tea room is decorated with great taste and if you want a short break from the busy, noisy world outside... Well, this is the place to go.
My fiancé and I are taking my brother and sister in law on Saturday to the Brasserie. Hopefully, we should not be disappointed!

Working in hospitality myself, I know what good service and food is and the White Hart Tea Room definitely deserves 5 stars.

My friend and I went for afternoon tea. The room we had it in was beautiful. Tea pots hanging from the ceiling. Staff very friendly and very helpful nothing too much for them. The food was top qualitiy and there was plenty. Finger sandwiches, cream teas and a selection of mini cakes. As much tea and coffee as you can drink. There is an excellent bar attached called the Fat Badger. In summer you can sit outside drinking. Parking free at the hotel, you need to get a ticket from reception before you leave. Suitable for men and women.
