Having stayed at Travelodge before (and vowed never to again) I believed the recent TV campaign and gave Gloucester Quays a go. What an eye - opener - it's brilliant.
Spotlessly Clean - Amazingly friendly staff - The best "Chain Hotel" Bed I have ever slept in. Well Done all of you.
Only 2 criticisms - which will NOT stop me staying again -
1. - Plenty of room for a "Set of Drawers" please
2. - Do they still make TV's without freeview ?? Going back to BBC 1 & 2 , ITV & Channel 4 was awful - If you intend to relax in your room - take a good book !!

Stayed here last Friday having read reviews, looked fine on arrival - quite modern and friendly , family of four we checked in and went for a bite to et in the quays shopping plaza ( that was nice actually , plenty of choice - Nando's, Ed's Diner ,TGI Fridays etc ). Overnight parking was available in shopping plaza - £2 overnight. However , when we returned back to our room it was physically shaking due to the noise and base of the adjacent pub disco. The noise of the disco did drown out the sound of screeching tyres from the car park directly outside all rear facing rooms. We decided to o to the bar for a drink until the noise settled, ordered couple of draught beers but returned them as they were completely flat and tasted awful ( stagnant ). went back up to room to get some sleep as we had a long drive ahead next day, unfortunately music still bouncing at 12.30hrs. Room was boiling hot also , air con faulty and couldn't open window due to noise levels. I complained at reception but was told there was nothing that could be done! No other rooms available but the noise generally finishes after 01.00hrs !! This appeared to be acceptable to the staff and just the normal Friday night routine. Having woken after a couple of hours sleep we all went down for breakfast , which looked edible but then staff appeared to start cleaning all catering surfaces and tables with chemical cleaners whilst food was out , spraying all over food yet leaving dining tables full of sticky substances and debris, bar / restaurant toilets also out of order. Such a shame as this should be. Nice place! Plenty of money spent in modernising - train the staff better, put in a cleaning regime and drop a bomb on the Baker St pub - should be worthy of charging for the pleasure.

Room Tip: Steer clear of this one if you value your sleep

Just stayed one night friday 22nd aug. From booking online to check in on reception everything was very quick smooth and hassle free. Staff were very friendly smiling and professional and helpfull. Room was clean fresh bed and pillows were very comfortable. Shower was good although could do with a longer shower curtain as the floor flooded. Lots of shops very close and eating out recommend eds diner on gloucester quays. Really good stay would recommend

We stayed here for two nights as a base to meet with family in the area. We found the hotel to be very good value for money and the staff very helpful. Parking was next to the hotel at the shopping centre and ticket could be validated at reception for a reduced rate. Location was great.

The room was small, but comfortable and clean. We were travelling with two children 6yrs & 9wks, we had requested a cot on booking (by phone) but the room had two foldaway beds in error. Reception quickly rectified this for us.

My only criticisms of the room were:
- somewhere to put your case would be useful.
- there was a half finished bottle of orange juice left on windowsill which must have been from previous guests.
- one of the coffee mugs in the room was quite dirty.

None of the above affected our stay.

Breakfast - buffet breakfast, food hot and of a reasonable standard, good value. Staff quickly replaced anything which ran out. Only criticism was the orange juice which was extremely sweet & concentrated.

Although we had pre booked and pre paid, we were so disappointed on arrival that we drove on and booked another hotel. We therefore lost the cost of our room, but no way would we stay there. The hotel entrance is on a double yellow line, and a bus stop, so you couldn`t park to check in or unload your luggage. Check in is via an elevator. The hotel is part of a shopping complex and multi storey car park. We saw two beggars waiting at the entrance to the lift, and two groups of intimidating hoodies hanging around the entrance. We felt that if you left your car in the multi storey, there would be no wheels in it in the morning, let alone any luggage you may have left there. Too difficult to find the car parking, and not secure enough for us. Sorry but not to usual standards of Travelodge.

Overall a very good night sleep, no noise at all, could not hear any traffic at all, very close to the town centre . only let down is it costs £10.00 to park in the multi storey car park in all still not a bad price for 24 hours. However when you check in they deduct your ticket to £6.00.

Very basic room, that felt somewhat like a small caravan or portacabin. The shower curtain was hung too high, such that the bathroom got wet from the water splashing beneath it. Also, there was no shelf on which to place my toiletries.

I stayed on a warm day, and on arrival my room was too warm. However, the integral air conditioning was faulty, and so too was the fan requested at reception.

Breakfast, too, was disappointing, and poor value for money.

I won't stay again - Premier Inn's are more comfortable, and no more expensive than this Travelodge.
