The drinks and food were overpriced. We had sandwiches which were made with "less than fresh" bread. We had a basket of chips too which were full of oil and very unpleasant. The whole experience was rather unimpressive. Continue past this establishment and find another.

Booked for Sunday lunch with a large group. Food was ok nothing extra special. Lots of gorgeous meat but not enough roast potatoes !!!!!!! If the vegetables were increased and the meat decreased a little it would have been far better.

We have been to the anchor many times over the past few years, a very friendly pub who have always been helpful with all of our enquires. Food in Gloucestershire is always quite expensive and here it is cheap compared to most places in the county. If you want a very good value meal then go on Tuesday evenings when they host their pie nights. A pie, chips (or other potato if you ask) and peas for a fiver! A decent portion also! The food we have had there has always been very tasty and the location of the pub cannot fail to impress. One bad review further down the list is not representative of what this pub is really like.

We had a family birthday gathering with a roast dinner a weekend or two ago and it was a brilliant roast meal by the team, well done!

My only criticism would be that the pub could do with a bit of an interior refresh.

We have had many Family meals at the Anchor.
Great food and Good service, though the place could do with a lick of paint.

Friendly bar staff and good food, prompt service and a lovely location, I did feel the 8oz rump @ £10.50 and the cod and chips @ £7.50 was a little over priced but it was very nice and two cleared plates proved it was indeed very tasty..!

The bar was very busy with the local crowd, we ate in the lounge area which was a lot quieter and the perfect place for a catch up with my dearest cousin .....!

I would give his place a big thumbs up..
