My mother bought us a voucher to use as a gift for our anniversary.

Wouldn't go again as it wasn't so good. There was faeces in the pool and hair in the food.

The rooms are very basic and the restaurant over priced. I feel like the staff would rather be somewhere else.

The massage I had was great though!!

I was shocked and disappointed to read your review of the hotel. We of course cannot guarantee that cleanliness issues will not occur being a family friendly club, I assume and hope that when these issues were brought to our attention they were addressed immediately and I apologize that all was not correct when you visited. Our restaurant is priced to offer the best quality and price in the local four star market, being competitive with the high street so I am afraid we cannot offer any more of a discount.,

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 night for a relaxing night away and we were looking forward to a lovely spa weekend. Sadly we were disappointed. Don't be fooled by the glossy photo of the front of the building as the rest of it looks like a youth hostel and there's a massive building site next door! Our room was situated opposite this building site (not a nice view) and next to the hotel bins where I was woken up at 6am to people moving beer barrels outside. The room was small- nothing like the lovely photos online and the showers power was pathetic.

When we entered the room we were disappointed and there was only 1 towel (for a double room) and no batteries in the remote?! We were hoping that the town would be easy to access as it said only 2 miles away but that was a 20 min drive or a £10 taxi... Something we could deal with but others may want to consider.

The hotel itself is nice but definitely not worth the money!! We went to the spa today... Majorly disappointed!! It wasn't a relaxing spa more like a Butlins swimming pool with kids jumping about, with a grubby looking pool/jacuzzi and it just looked tired, so did the changing rooms.

The breakfast was nice apart from the fact we had to wait 10 mins as they ran out of food. Would we stay here again? No. It was overpriced and an average hotel, to be honest, we've stayed nicer places which were a lot cheaper! Be careful with the building site if you stay during the week too!

Rather disappointing.

I sincerely apologize for where we have fallen short of our high standards. Although we can never be to everyone's tastes, it is obvious we made some mistakes during your visit and I hope you will contact me directly so that I can investigate fully your issues.

This was our 2nd stay here due to a family funeral and staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. On check in after a long journey from The North, reception happily offered rooms with easier access for parents despite it being quite full. Once again, rooms were immaculate and well serviced. The lady on duty each morning for breakfast (didn't get her name but very cheerful) was extremely good ensuring everyone was well looked after. An absolute gem. Reception very helpful. Although we didn't dine at the hotel this time, the staff on duty acknowledged us and engaged which didn't seem to be the case last year. The contemporary brasserie does have a good reasonably priced menu and a decent room service list but we were invited out & dined with family. However it would have been my choice on the first night simply because of convenience but from past experience, the food was pretty good. I can't fault any member of staff. They were all very pleasant. I have to add that the hotel is hard to find initially but 2nd time around it was easy. The only criticism (and this is being picky) is the fact that the breakfast buffet is completely self service other than coffee & tea. Once again, the breakfast waitress aforementioned is an absolute star. I must also thank (and apologise) to the night porter on duty on the 4th April for putting up with us in the wee small hours..

Room Tip: A bit of construction was going on close by but didn't disturb at all. All rooms are of great qu...

Went for a relaxing stay after being given a gift voucher and am pleased to say it was lovely from the afternoon tea to the calm serene surroundings. The staff were very helpful and nothing seemed too much. We are very impressed and have recommended this hotel to friends and family.

Enjoyed a very nice two nights Spa Break at this hotel. We received a very warm welcome and everything was explained about the facilities. After checking into our very nice spacious bedroom we had afternoon tea which was very delicious.

On the second day we were treated to massages by a very charming and competent young lady. On the second night dinner was included in the package and we did not see much vegetarian selection on the menu. We approached one of the staff, (her name was Caroline, not sure of her position) about our dinner preference and she arranged with the chef for us to have a special vegetarian meal.

Overall a very pleasant stay at this hotel, will certainly visit again.

We went for a spa break there for 2 nights; it was half term so the pool/spa area was quite busy with kids and locals. It isn't quite as swish as the photos show on the website but a jacuzzi is a jacuzzi and we got an incredible deal for 2 nights including full use of the spa, a massage, breakfast both mornings and a slap up 3 course meal. The food was pretty good and the staff very friendly. It isn't in a nice area of Gloucester so you can't wander around much but you're only a 10 minute drive from the M5 and the town centre so you can travel about. A good cheap getaway.

We have just got back from a 2 night stay, which was given to us as a Buy a Gift voucher. The hotel itself is lovely, very modern. Rooms were clean and came with tea coffee etc.
The reception staff were very helpful. Included in our stay was breakfast each morning - couldnt fault this, so much choice - and a 2 course meal each evening. The first night we stayed, the food we had was okay - we both had steak, but the steak was very chewy but the rest of the meal was lovely. The second night, I had the pork and my boyfriend the chicken, which were both lovely. The only negative is there isnt that much choice on the menu, and if you were paying for the meals (which luckily we werent) the prices are quite expensive. But overall very good.
The only thing that let the hotel down was the 'Spa'. The swimming pool etc is so dated and old - it really needs updating. It was clean, and a lot of people using it, but considering they say they are a spa hotel, it wasnt really a spa - just a swimming pool with a few jacuzzi's. If they refurbished the Spa would be a 5* stay.
Overall a lovely weekend break and would return!

Thank you for your review following your recent enjoyable visit, it is great that you had a good time and we appreciate the constructive feedback.

Our restaurant menu is priced to be the best value for a four star product in the local area.

We do try to advertise ourselves as a Health Club with Spa facilities, these include Jacuzzi, Sauna, Steam Room, Nail Bar, Lazy River, Treatment Rooms, Gym, Squash Courts etc.
