Had to pay at reception desk ion arrival even though when booking stated you paid when checking-out.

No soap to wash hands and empty shower gel holder in shower pod so nothing to wash with.

Only horrible decaf coffee sachets provided in room.

Noise from other people being very loud all night.

Smell of smoke drifting into corridors from open window and people smoking underneath them.

Plus side - bed comfy and room and wash pod looked clean enough

This hotel just outside Gloucester in the Barnwood area is a good, basic no frills hotel. The hotel rooms are compact but so well designed, they provide everything you need, hostess tray, hairdryer, TV, seating area plus very comfortable bed. The pod showering room was clean and functional. All staff were helpful
and pleasant. All in all a good choice.

We were able to take our dog which was an important consideration. The hotel appears to be pretty new. The accommodation is small (as with new things) but it was practical pleasant and clean. Others will say soulless, but it was as expected and would use again for a single night stay.

Stayed here for one night on our way home from a wedding to break up the journey.
Booked well in advance so expected a good rate. We. Did find out the rate better on the day than we payed but did feel a bit peaved we paid to much.
Hotel was easy to fund with free parking for guest.
Booking in was easy and the check in staff very helpful.
Our double rooms were on the forth floor facing a main road, the room was the most basic standard you can get.
Laminate floor with no decor. Bed was cumfi with clean bedding. Even with the window closed the traffic noise was constant. If you want a good night sleep you might ask for a room on the otherside of the hotel. Away from the traffic noise.
Bathroom was a plactic pod in the corner which was clean and did have what looked like a new shower.
We didnt take breakfast as for £9 each was we felt to much.
If you feel you have to stay at an ibis hotel checkout others first as the standards mught just be a bit better than the ibis hotels.
Would i recommend the ibis range? Yes if there was nothing else.

Room tip: Chose a room away from the main road away from noise.

We stayed for 2 nights this week at this Hotel, there was nothing to not like, good parking, a nice welcome on arrival, nice clean well equipped room with lovely view. The breakfast was good and surprisingly varied. To get to the city centre it was simple, just walk for a couple of minutes and the No 10 bus takes you into town and on to the Gloucester Quays, because it was a Sunday the buses ran every 30 mins which was fine, although we were assured that they run every 15mins during the week. We would use this Hotel again.

Room tip: The rooms overlooking the sp;arts field would be quieter, as the road could be nosey with windows open
