“Good base”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

The hotel is in a good location and we walked the 20 minutes into Gloucester. On the way we came across a retail park with Tesco, a number of restaurants and few shops.

As people have mentioned, the walls are very thin so you can hear the next door occupants and doors banging however this did not disrupt our sleep. The rooms were clean, although a bit tired now.

However it served as a great base for exploring.

Me and my husband stopped in the hotel from the 5-4-14 to the 6-4-14 as we checked in we was greeted by a lovely helpful young lady, very polite and willing to go that extra mile to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible, everything we needed was provided, and as we had a new baby the receptionist allowed us to use the microwave to sterilise our daughters bottles. The room was very warm and comfortable and very clean, the bed was very comfy and apart from being unwell and getting up to see to our daughter we had a very nice nights sleep, we had dinner over at the restaurant and the food was well presented, hot and very tasty, good value for money and also the service was very fast and efficient with staff always wiling to help out and go that extra mile, we was so pleased with the other all experience we decided to dine for breakfast the next day and I have to say we were delighted and certainly lived up to the night time dining looking forward to staying again soon :-)

The Premier at Longford just about gets my vote - but only just.
It's tired, but it's cheap.
It's also clean - with some exceptions. For example, the beds were spotless, but there was a dirty glass under one of them. On the second day we returned to find the waste bin had not been cleared (complete with highly-scented orange peel).
The hotel was also cold. Wed put the heating up, but it could not cope with the fact the staff on both days left open the fire escape doors for several hours. It allowed icy air to blow down the corridor, and the room was unable to heat itself.
So - low down on our list of Gloucester hotels.

Located about 5 minutes drive of Gloucester Rugby Club, or 15 minutes walk if you park your car at the Hotel so you don't have to worry about drink/drive.
As Premier Inns go its what you'd expect. Clean Linen and very friendly and efficient staff. The place looks a bit tired but nothing serious.
Breakfast at the Pub opposite, again what you'd expect but not buffet which I prefer. I think Premier with the cost of breakfast (if you don't have kids who eat free) isn't particularly cheap anymore.

Room Tip: don't have a room near any entry doors, late night entry will invariable be heard.

I stay here for a fishing club AGM across the road each year and the staff are always welcoming and show all the signs of being very well trained. The breakfast is always good quality and freshly prepared to order.
