Used for a company anniversary, this place was perfect. From the staff helping us with the organising, who were so helpful guiding us through from organising the bar and food, to supplying security for the event. The building is magnificent, great acoustics, wonderful history - perfect inside and out. Whether you're organising a wedding, party or works event, you really should consider Blackfriars, you won't be disappointed.

Wow, this is really greatest venue - historic architecture, steeped in the city's history. Enter through the arch into the first courtyard then into a grassed quadrangle. Great spaces for activity, entertainment etc.

This was on my list to see on a short trip to Gloucester. Unfortunately th town touist guide did not indicate that it is only open two days, so we missed it. if we had known in advance we could easily have made sure to visit when it was open.

My wife and I stumbled across Blackfriars - a C13th Monstery. Worth a walk around, particularly the upstairs of the hall at the back of the site where the monks used to sit in their 'cellular areas' by the window studying and writing.
