“One canal we missed”
Reviewed 15 January 2014

Whilst we had our boat, this was one place we meant to visit. Sadly , never came to pass, so it was a special treat, whilst visiting Slimbridge and Gloucester Quays to be able to walk around and take a stroll up the towpath.

“Lovely”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

Took a boat on the canal from slimbrige to sharpness, we enjoyed the lovely surroundings and wildlife, and friendly people. A great pub at slimbrige for a good meal.

“"Sitting on the dock of the bay"”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

"Watching the time flow away", as Otis Redding would put it, is a must in this little town of Gloucester. Bring either gossiping friends or a moleskine: those docks are inspiring.

“Level path and beautiful scenery”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

The paths are easily negotiable along the canal. Loads of wildlife to watch and very diverse plant life.

“Lovely countryside near the city”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

We took our boat the length of the canal over a few days, it's very easy to navigate being wide and deep and relatively straight with no locks. Great for a relaxing break. Facilities along the canal are OK with a few water points and sanitary stations, plenty of pubs but very few shops for groceries, stock up at Sainsburys Gloucester for the trip!
