Delicious food and good service. A bit pricey but maybe because it was valentines day? If you want decent food then this is the place to be.

We have been here many times and last night was no exception to receiving great quality food and great service. There was a live singer on who was great, not overpowering but gave a proper lounge singer atmosphere. The magician was entertaining tables of people who were happy to have him there. The service here is slick and professional but not over the top. Our food was super, served onto warmed plates and the staff attentive throughout. We have ordered different things every time as we want to try many different tastes and flavours. Although not on the main restaurant run its well worth the visit here and the food certainly wont disappoint.

My husband and I have just had a wonderful evening at the Nepalese Chef, from start to finish it was great. We received a warm welcome, then sat at one of the many good sized tables. No being squashed in to a small space tight up against another table here, even the tables themselves are a good size and plenty of room for the food to be placed and presented nicely. The waiters and staff were very friendly and helpful with good humour. Our waiter helped us choose our food as what our tastes are. We were served at the speed we chose, we prefer to wait between courses, the plates were modern and the food well presented, good cutlery, which makes a favourable change! I cannot fault this restaurant, the food was fantastic! We will definately be going again, so many different and unusual choices on the menu, we cant wait!!

So what make this restaurant worth a review?

Gloucester and Cheltenham are full of good places for a curry so it is the attention to detail which makes a place standout from the crowd.

We booked a table for a party of six on a Saturday night our first impressions were of a clean tidy spacious dining area where the tables weren’t cramped together.

The flyer on the table showed that Saturday (and possibly Fridays) night was live music and magician night which filled us with mild horror! Not what we were expecting.

The Nepalese origin of some dishes meant that the menu options were just that bit different to other curry houses. I chose from the Nepalese specialities. The staff were polite and efficient and when the food arrived it was served on warmed plates and the staff knew who had ordered which dish, a nice touch. Everyone in our group enjoyed their food and between us there was a wide variety of mains, sides, rice and breads.

The live music started first, but to our relief the singer was actually pretty good and it was unobtrusive, not too loud to disrupt normal conversation. The magician visited our table twice during the evening. He would do a few card and fruit based tricks between courses which didn’t interrupt the meal and each time left us amazed with his slight of hand.

If you don’t wish to be disturbed by the magician turn over the flyer and leave it on the side of the table so he knows not to approach your table, however, I definitely recommend it.

Visited last week with friends. We did not have to wait long for a table, and the servers were attentive and efficient. The atmosphere was inviting. Everything from the starters to the desserts were divine. We were particularly impressed by the Sekuwa and the Chicken Dosa starters. The Royal Tawa was also satisfyingly spicy, and left just the right amount of tingle on the taste buds. We were so impressed by Nepalese Chef that we decided to come back for dinner the next day as well. We would definitely recommend trying out Nepalese Chef.
