“Such good food!”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Ate here with friends at the weekend and had such a lovely time. I had the rib eye steak which was a generous size when it arrived and the stilton sauce was so creamy and delicious. Others had the lamb chops, duck and lamb which all came in generous portions and looked so tasty. The bring your own booze policy is great as well as it keeps the cost down and the service was of goos standard. Overall The Barge is a really great place to eat and is just what Gloucester needs.

“Unpretentious, good cafe”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

This was more like a cheery cafe, but the fillet steak was top notch. Very tender, juicy and delicious and large!

We were told when we booked to bring a bottle which meant that our bill was very low.

For dessert, we had a wonderful bread and butter pudding, which made us wish we had room to try all the other desserts, it was that good.

This is more for the family, lights were bright and the variety ranging from burgers and chips to the fillet would have catered for all.

“Great Haddock in Wonderful Batter. Desserts to Die For.”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Had a girls meal out after work. Welcomed and seated without any delay, wide variety of meals on the menu, service was great. Three had seafood pasta, what's more to say than must three clean plates and three full customers one of us fancied a starter as a main course and this was no problem , and I had the battered haddock it was lovely yes another clean plate, all clean plates.
All of us full but had to have a dessert and they were fantastic, not telling you about these as when I go again (soon) there may be none left, as you could have been there before I get chance. so you will have to go and see what lovely home made desserts there are.

“Lovely place, lovely people!”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant a few times during my stay in Gloucester this summer. Each of the dishes I tried were delicious, and wonderfully presented. The owners of this restaurant, who also double as chef and host/server respectively, were equally as lovely. Service was prompt. Prices very reasonable. They even entertained our birthday dinner for my Aunt, a group of 23, and had us all served quickly and accurately. Really really loved this restaurant.
