Owner description: Dedicated to the preservation of Gloucestershire's rich aviation heritage, Jet Age Museum is an all-volunteer, registered charity. We tell the story of the Gloster Aircraft Company, focussing on the first Allied jet flight. Our mission is the preserve the past and inspire the future by telling the stories of the people and places that put our County at the forefront of the aerospace industry.

We live in Gloucestershire and a work colleague told us about the museum. We took my husbands parents who are in their 80s to look around. Father in law did his National service in the RAF and absolutely loved looking around and chatting to the volunteers. There was a young volunteer who was a such a lovely lad and so knowledgable, spend ages chatting to him. He wanted a career in plane restoration, we hope he gets the opportunity to do this as he was so passionate.

Entry is free, donations encouraged so they can continue with the work.

10 out of 10, will definitely go again.

We visited the Jet Age Museum as we had a family interest in the history of the Gloucester Meteor. We had been recommended to visit by a family friend. We were not disappointed. It was truly amazing in displaying the Gloucester aircraft and the story of Whittle and the engines. It was clearly displayed and very interesting. It is run by volunteers who clearly know their stuff. Plenty to do for the children too with smaller exhibits for them to enjoy. The gift shop and coffee shop was good too. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend this to anyone. Not only because it is absolutely free, but of major historical interest.

This is run by volunteer so considering this it is very good if you are a big fan. Miss the cafe if you want a cuppa that is tasteful however we did go when they were rushed off their feet so maybe not long enough for the tea bag!

Susan, many thanks for the feedback, we hope you enjoyed your visit. We'll pass on your comments to the cafe volunteers regarding the tea. We will also be open on Wednesdays during the summer holidays (and Bank Holidays) and hope to extend our opening times when have have a sufficient team of volunteers.
