I booked this hotel through Groupon. The offer was for a pamper night, including prosecco and canapes and breakfast. Everytime I tried to book a room, it was clear that as I wasn't a full paying customer I wasn't given priority. I finally made a reservation but was told I'd have to pay an extra £30 for the upgrade as there were no double rooms available. Once there, the receptionist was far from polite. Our room was big but quite bare and the floor was cold. Our king size bed was 2 single beds (badly) pushed together, leaving an uncomfortable gap in the middle.
Finally got prosecco to our room and the pamper package was nothing more than a cheap plastic clear washbag with unmarked re-fillable containers, containing (I presume) shower gel and bath salts.
Breakfast was also disappointing. Took 40 minutes to come and the bacon was more like gammon.
It was a shame as I had heard some good reviews. I guess everyone has different expectations.More
