“Great value for money”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

Not your top flight restaurant, but great food and great value for money. I like the style of food. It's a little less spicy than other places which means you can taste more of the food and less of the spice. The staff are friendly and its in a good location of Derby with some good real Ale pubs not a million miles away. On the whole, very good.

“Delicious!!! ”
Reviewed 3 March 2014 via mobile

Really great food & wonderfully attentive staff.
Living near Bradford I've eaten some great curries but the food at Mount Everest was definitely some of the best I've had. The nan breads, biryani, momo dumplings & salmon starter were all delicious! As was everyone else's food! Everything tasted very fresh with perfectly balanced spices & flavours. All curries could be done mild, medium or hot which i always appreciate.
The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the evening. The waiter chatted with us about Nepalese cuisine & gave recommendations based on our tastes which was really lovely!
The manager(?) was very friendly also & was playing happily with my 9 month old nephew- very sweet!
We were given our coffees on the house.
Highly recommended!!

“Somewhere special for great night out”
Reviewed 15 February 2014

I visited Mount Everest with a group of work colleagues after getting recommendations from friends. It is in an area of Derby which sports several very high quality Indian restaurants making it tough on competition.
The menus are quite extensive with a large range of food types covering the expected Nepalese fayre through to standard Indian style curries for the less adventurous. The breads on offer were similar to normal Indian food but rice was definitely more varied to suit Nepalese food.
The meal started with poppadoms and pickles which were on the house. We ordered the meals and many of us tried the Nepalese options to make the meal different. It turned out to be a great choice as everyone's meal was wonderful. Most tried different combinations so as a group we covered a good range.
Very impressed with the overall experience and more than happy to recommend this establishment.
