I travel from the U.S. to Derby every couple months. I have to say that I am thrilled that the Jurys Inn has opened its doors. The hotel is in a good location; close to city centre with numerous restaurants, shops and pubs within walking distance. The hotel has just about everything a business traveler would need/want. I met many of the staff and they were all very professional, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Jurys for your stay in or near Derby. I will make that my new "home base" when traveling there.

Good modern hotel, handy for town centre although one way roads make it very difficult to actually get to it, despite the fact you can see it easily. .. No car park even though it is built above one. Seems builder will not let them use it so its a walk to the local public car park, whilst the car park below is empty! They will tell you it is £1 per night, it is not, it was £3.00 . Beds are small in normal rooms so you need to either be a short person or ask for a king size room. Television did not work but they reacted quickly and actually upgraded us for free. Manager was very helpful, but overall hotel is let down by the car issue and the bed sizes.

Just had a one night stay here last weekend for my friend's hen weekend. We arrived after a day at Alton Towers, already aware there was no car park. The hotel had supplied directions to the nearest car park when we had booked though, so it wasn't a problem wheeling our cases over the road! The hotel is beautifully decorated with a contemporary stylish feel. My room was larger than others in our party, being on the corner, with windows to 2 sides! Bed was very comfortable and bathroom etc all sparkling clean. The shower was fantastic, hot with great pressure - just what I needed after being on the Oblivion at Alton Towers! It was great having an ice machine in the corridor, so we filled our bin with ice and put the bubbly on to chill! Reception were very couteous and friendly when I rang to enquire whether we would need a taxi to the restaurant. We didn't eat our evening meal at the hotel, as had booked a table at Zizzi's - this is about 10 mins walk, but as we weren't sure where it was and all had heels on, we got a taxi - this was booked by the hotel and the most luxurious taxi ever! A silver people carrier with the politest, smartest taxi driver I have ever met!

Had a great night out in Derby, and a nice lie in on the Sunday morning, going down for a leisurely breakfast at about 10.15am. Even at that time, the food was fresh and hot and you could just help yourself to whatever you fancied, which was great. Thought this hotel was a bargain, considering it was a budget price, it was fab! We paid around £30 each for b&b, when splitting the cost of a triple & 2 doubles between us. Will definitely stay at Jurys Inns, rather than Etap etc in the future, for my girly weekends!

Stayed here with my partner 4th Sept to 6th Sept. We arrived early evening, had to do a round trip of the one way system past the Chapel St car park but that was our own + sat nav's fault. Your sat nav may say 'Arriving at destination on right' but infact it's on the left opposite a few bars and pubs. It's a multistory and we thought great value for money considering its in the city centre, we paid a grand total of £3 for our whole weekend (this was because we parked after 6pm and left before 8am plus a little later on Sunday)

The staff were very helpful and welcoming, directed us to a Tesco when we realised we'd forgotten our toothpaste (only 5 mins walk) and printed out some info on Chatsworth for us (even did a quick AA journey planner to it from the hotel without us asking!) The room was fine, extra towels, complimentary tea and coffee, shampoo, shower gel and hand wash. Air conditioning which we did use as keeping the window open meant hearing the traffic (with it shut can't hear anything!) Everything is nice and new (still has that new carpet smell). Ice machines every other floor which we took advantage of also. The shower over the bath was surprisingly good, had 3 different pressures the hardest of which came in handy for some achey muscles after being jolted about at Alton Towers. However for my 6:50am shower I only got lukewarm water, my partner jumped in after me and said there was an abundance of hot water so may be worth running it for a while first.

I really recommend getting the breakfast in with the price as otherwise it's £7.50 per head per day. It was nice, good range of fresh fruit, cereals, fruit juices, tea and coffee and even herbal teas plus cooked breakfast buffet. Really good start if you've got a busy day planned as we did! It runs from 7am-11am which we were surprised about, was nice that we could have a lie in on the sunday before leaving. We had a couple of drinks in the hotel bar after we first arrived and they were a bit pricey but nothing more than you'd expect plus the definitely clean glasses, lovely bar staff and quality of wines etc made it worth it (beware of the carpet if you've had one too many, we were both sober and the crazy swirly carpet still made us feel a bit seasick...decor leaves a bit much to be desired but that's just our own personal taste - we don't like stripes, swirls or velvet furniture)

The hotel itself is situated just at the top of the main street running through the middle of Derby (near Cathedral quarter) and close by there were plenty of bars, pubs, restaurants (including, Nando's, Little Frankie's, a Wetherspoons if that's your thing and a few bistro's and pubs that also served food). It's a great base for Alton Towers, think it took us about 45mins but we got stuck behind a tractor or two.

All in all a great stay and definitely great value for money on the deals lastminute.com has at the moment!

P.S. Someone previous said they had problems with the kettle, we did at first but just give it a bit of a wiggle on the stand and it sorts itself out :)

Very pleased with Jurys Inn, Clean friendly hotel, close to Westfields Shopping Centre within walking distance which was good - as I love shopping ! Only thing was no car park, had to park just over the road, costing only £2 sun and Bank Hol Mon which was good, otherwise it would have been £7. there was mess up with our booking when we arrived, they had us down for arriving the day before, as I had the confirmation which clearly stated we had arrived on the correct date, there was not a problem and it was sorted straight away. We had a very good deal online through there website of £40 night - promotional discount, the rooms were lovely with views of church, flat screen tv with all the freeview channels, bed comfortable, air conditioning worked great-not noisy like some. Breakfast was fine. We visited Heights of Abraham which I would highly recommend, half hour drive, beautiful place called Matlock Bath.

Really enjoyed our stay at Jurys Inn, Derby, would not hesitate in returning, all the staff was friendly and helpful.

Just watch out for the wasps (in derby that is not the hotel!)- they seem to be everywhere up there, i got stung by one, wasn't pleasant!

I look forward to reading any negative reviews on this hotel, because it will clearly be a joke! This Jurys Inn is simply exceptional. The hotel is very new and as you would expect is very clean and modern, but it goes beyond this with fantastic public areas (bar, restaurant etc), adequately spacious and very comfortable bedrooms complete with air con & LCD TV. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient, without being intrusive. The breakfast was terrific value and very tasty. I could go on, but I'm sure you're getting the picture! We stayed in Jurys Derby as a base for Alton Towers and it was perfect being close to the airport, within easy reach of the park and offering excellent nightlife including restaurants and bars nearby.

If you require a hotel in the Derby area Jury's will NOT disappoint!

Stayed here for one night only, had missed my flight and had a lovely stay. Staff were very friendly and could not do enough. The hotel is new so everything is fresh and modern, much better than other Jurys. Great decor and location. Rooms are spaceous and clean. Great outdoor area, when the UK gets the good weather this will be a fab place to sit, chill and have a cold drink.
Only downside is lack of parking but that did not bother me.
