Had a fantastic meal and couple of pints of Samuel Smith beer in this atmospheric old pub. Friendly landlord and locals so make sure you search it out.

This pub is fantastic!! The setting is beautiful, the pub is charming, and the beer is Sam Smith...what more can I say...I enjoyed a lovely pint of Sam Smith organic wheat beer and it was really good...oh and cheap too, 2 pints for about £5.80! Brilliant

This pub is well worth visiting time and time again.

Not only are the surroundings of the old abbey fantastic but the real ales that are available are brilliant and kept well.

The beer is also kept at very reasonable prices and I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Visited this pub a few times when staying in the nearby Birchover Apartments. Great little pub with lots of character. Its fairly small inside (downstairs) but has a much larger bar upstairs which opens after 6 on a Friday night and was open during the day on the Saturday when we went. The brewery is Samuel Smiths (well known for its Alpine Lager and Organic Pure Lager). A round for 5 of us on the Friday was about £13 (guys on beer, girls on wine) and £18 on the Saturday when there was 7 of us.

We ate lunch here on the Saturday - it was good cheap pub food. The fish finger sandwiches were fantastic!!!!!!!

Definitely would visit again if was in the area.

Great little pub with heaps of character! Full of comedy locals and friendly dogs. You won't be disappointed if you pop in for a pint. Great in the summer as the pub sprawls onto the green and cosy in the winter too.
