“Mainly good with the odd niggle!”
Reviewed 12 September 2013

We arrived & were checked in promptly, we had a family room which was a good size with a double & a single bed in it which we're both very comfortable. The only problem we had with the room was the dead dragon fly I found under one of the pillows!
The breakfast in the attached restaurant was very good, plenty of options hot & continental. We also ate both nights here, the food was good the only problem was it was very slow arriving especially on the Saturday night when we waited well over an hour from ordering when it didn't appear that busy. It wouldn't have been so bad if we hadn't had a 3 & 5 year old with us, who were getting tired after a long day at alton towers so waiting until after 9 to eat wasn't ideal!

Great at reception, professional, polite whilst being friendly. Communal areas are spotless. Rooms are as stated in all literature with a little more space in this hotels' rooms, than some other Premier Inns. Bar service is prompt and seating areas are comfortable. Restaurant is very well presented and inviting for both groups, couples and business trips alike. The new menu is excellent and fair priced.
If tomorrows booked hotel doesn't measure up we'll be back like a flash.

Room Tip: On ground floor overlooking the car park at the front of the hotel. Restricted opening window for se...

A visit to Kedelston Hall antiques fair required a nearby hotel and this fitted the bill very well. Easy to find, off the A38 and opposite the Royal Derby hospital it was no problem to find. Quiet rooms with a Beefeater conveniently placed next door, what more could we want? A slight problem of a drainy type smell coming into the bathroom was the only negative and a softer pillow would have been nice. The Derbyshire dales and peak district are wonderful to explore and this hotel fits the bill perfectly.

Room Tip: Book a table if you wish to eat at the Beefeater before you leave home or you may have a bit of a w...

Another good premier inn with beefeater inn close by. Good reception staff, spacious and clean rooms excellent vfm. Food at beefeater is very tasty and not too expensive. Room has bath with shower over, comfortable bed and standard amenities. Thoroughly recommended

We like to book the Premier Inn's when going for short breaks as you know what you are getting. This hotel was a good price for 2 nights stay. It is about a 45 minute drive out from Alton Towers although the AA route Planner says its less than that.
Good accomodation, friendly staff, tidy & clean room. There was a beefeater next door which would be useful but we ate further a field after out trip to Alton Towers. Parking is free and you are given a parking ticket to put in your car.
All in all a good hotel for a good price.

Close to the main A38, and up to the usual good Premier Inn standard. Very friendly and helpful staff, and adjacent pub served good food. Pub can get busy, so book a table. Pub has pleasant outside areas to sit/drink.

Room Tip: Low numbers are near the reception area, so short walk; higher numbers have fewer people passing you...

A good base for a three day trip to Alton Towers, staff very friendly and helpful. Resturant excellent food. Enjoyable stay took about 40 mins to an hour to reach Alton Towers from this hotel. Beds all made up on arrival as we were delayed in traffic and it took us 7 hours to get there so we arrived after 11pm it was nice not to worry about sorting room out, very swift and courteous in reception. Only one complaint about towels it stated to leave towels in bath if you required them to be changed we did so and the damp towels were folded and placed on bed. (I would far rather they be left in bath if they were not going to change them, than put on clean bed) . Overall a friendly hotel was anxious of hospital noise opposite but didnt hear the hospital or ambulance sirens much at all so neednt have worried. Cheap Aldi supermarket in walking distance if you need anything urgent which was handy too.
