Great start to the day. High quality ingredients. Lovely bacon, nicely cooked fresh mushrooms, soft fried egg, beans, hash brown, tea and toast . Haven't had such a lovely breakfast for ages. Good value too. Would come again.

I regularly come here (I live in Swindon) for lunch and really like it.
Between 12-2 they do buy one get one free on baguettes which come with a pot of chips. I think they're around £4.50 so at buy one get one free it's a bargain!
They also do roast dinner deals on Sunday as well as 2 meals for £6 in the afternoon (I think between 3-5 but you'd have to double check). These meals aren't huge but more than adequate! Food always tastes nice, it's cooked to order however you never have to wait that long.
The food selection seems good, they have a vegetarian board as well as a children's menu.
The pubs decor is nice and has some character with beams and a seating arrangement that isn't exposed and has little areas that are tucked away.
The Crown also has accommodation which personally I have never tried but have heard positive things about.
The location is ok, plenty of amenities close by. There is a nearby co-op and Aldi, both within walking distance. Also nearby (15 min walk/5 min drive) to Greenbridge which is a large retail/leisure park with shops such as Boots, Next, Argos, Matalan, Currys, Laura Ashley etc as well as Nuffied Health (a nice health centre with gym, sauna, swimming pool and spa etc), Cinema, Frankie and Bennies, Chiquitos as well as Pizza Hut, KFC and of course McDonald's! All in the same park.
Free parking outside.
Not sure if there is any wi-fi available.

I would recommend The Crown for a light lunch and an overnight B&B stay if staying in Swindon.

If you are looking for a B&B in Stratton then I think you cant go too wrong with this place. Ok, its a bit oaky and its not exactly a gastro pub but they serve good honest (and cheap!) food and the staff are so friendly and go out of their way for you. The rooms in the house are a bit dated but perfectly clean and comfortable and for £45 there is nothing to complain about. The rooms off the carpark / courtyard seem to be a little more modern, a little bigger and have bigger bathrooms but again as I say, good value for money.
The breakfast was great, a good selection of full English, bacon rolls, cereal and continental. Endless drinks, toast, newspapers etc. It seemed that it was quite a locals breakfast place too with non residents pouring in.

Room Tip: I would ask for one of the newer rooms outside

I love this hotel for the location, food and friendly staff. I stay here on business frequently and have always made to feel a valued customer. It has the wonderful feel of a family run concern. I have stayed in rooms both in the old building and the new extension and personally prefer the old building as it is more rustic and traditional. The food has always been fantastic for choice, volume and quality. It is really good home cooked food and a fab choice of ales too. Fantastic value - see you soon

Same price as Premier Inn.
Much better beer, good quality pub food all freshly cooked.
Spotlessly clean room, tastefully decorated..
Can park right outside, unlike hotels in centre of Swindon.
Friendly helpful staff

I eat at The Crown about once a month, they always have good offers and I have always found their food to be home cooked and tasty. We went for a roast for the first time today and it was all fresh with lovely crispy potatoes and thick meaty gravy, good quality coffee too and plenty of custard with the puds!

My wife and I are once a week regulars in this pub for a steak on a friday night, we find the staff to be very good and friendly with a desire to serve you well.
We always eat from the specials board and end up paying about £32.50 for two 16oz steaks and 4 pints of beer which I think is very good since an indian takeaway cost me £23 the other night.
The pub is used by tradesmen and some of the furnishings are a bit threadbare but the food is very good, if not say so and they will do somehting about it.

Room Tip: There are some special curry and fish nights although we have not tried them.
