“Clearly the eat-in experience is better than their take-out.”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

After a long gap we fancied takeaway tandoori and so ordered chicken, lamb tikka ,a vegetable curry and three plain Naans. The tandoori chicken was tender and quite tasty but the lamb was nothing to write home about and a bit tough. So far so reasonably good but then we come to the vegetable curry....this consisted of a few leftover bits of vegetables : a few peas, one or two strips of cabbage, minutes dices of carrot ( about six in total !) and I counted two small coriander leaves in the whole dish. Perhaps midweek is not the best time to order this dish : there were no potatoes, onions or any sizeable chunks of vegetable to be found and the whole thing was swimming in a sauce that tasted of nothing much at all and had, I suspect, been diluted. I would not have ordered vegetable curry as I have yet to taste an authentic Indian vegetable curry in Swindon but my husband insisted; he won't be doing that again ! Now the Naans : texture was good but why the sweet taste ? They tasted as if they had literally been sprinkled with sugar. The usual mixed salad accompanied our order but it typically consisted of shredded lettuce with two pieces of tomato and two thick rounds of cucumber. By the way, why is it that the salad is always scrunched up in thin plastic and then placed on top of the hot food so it warms up ..?! Disappointing !

“Very nice meal”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

Visited this restaurant last week on a saturday evening. The place was pretty full and showed promise of things to come.
We had been recommended this place by family members so was hoping it be a little bit special.

The food was pretty much faultless, all four of our party said it was really good and would have the smae dishes again. Service was a little slow, and waiters not the most attentive but then again it looked like they had their hands full. Prices are a little above average but like i say only just.

I will deffinately return, although i am not that local ( 20 miles away ).

Only issue in my view was the restaurant is very open and feels a little canteen like, and can get very loud as people struggle to be heard due to the openess from the adjoing customers conversations. What happened to the good old fashioned booths i used to enjoy at the local Indian ?

“Best curry ever!”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

I have been searching for years for a good curry meal. I found it here. Unfortunately, it's thousands of miles away from my home in Oregon. So I guess I'll just have to plan another trip to be in Nirvana. Good food, good service, good time.

“Not bad at all, reasonably impressed - I'll be back ;-)”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Arrived at 7pm on a Tuesday night and got a table straight away (which was lucky as one hour later the place was packed to the rafters with a small queue waiting to be seated!).

I went for the "Vegetarian Set Meal" at £16 and a pint of Cobra. The Veggie set meal comprised a poppadum, some chutneys (mango, chopped onion and the yellow yoghurt), a mixed set of starters (onion bhajee, potato vada, some curried veg and something else) and a main course of three good bowls of various veggie curries (saag, potato and some curried onion concoction), naan bread, coffee and ice-cream/kulfi. My mate went for a chicken tikka starter and the lamb biryani.

Food was very good and served in hot bowls/dishes; very enjoyable, tasty and filling. Worth a vist on this showing.
