After a long gap we fancied takeaway tandoori and so ordered chicken, lamb tikka ,a vegetable curry and three plain Naans. The tandoori chicken was tender and quite tasty but the lamb was nothing to write home about and a bit tough. So far so reasonably good but then we come to the vegetable curry....this consisted of a few leftover bits of vegetables : a few peas, one or two strips of cabbage, minutes dices of carrot ( about six in total !) and I counted two small coriander leaves in the whole dish. Perhaps midweek is not the best time to order this dish : there were no potatoes, onions or any sizeable chunks of vegetable to be found and the whole thing was swimming in a sauce that tasted of nothing much at all and had, I suspect, been diluted. I would not have ordered vegetable curry as I have yet to taste an authentic Indian vegetable curry in Swindon but my husband insisted; he won't be doing that again ! Now the Naans : texture was good but why the sweet taste ? They tasted as if they had literally been sprinkled with sugar. The usual mixed salad accompanied our order but it typically consisted of shredded lettuce with two pieces of tomato and two thick rounds of cucumber. By the way, why is it that the salad is always scrunched up in thin plastic and then placed on top of the hot food so it warms up ..?! Disappointing !
