“Quiet large room helpful staff”
Reviewed 15 June 2013

Probably if you need to stay in Swindon it is for business and this has a convenient central location walking distance to station. I was visiting the research councils so the location was ideal. The room was spacious, clean, the bed comfortable and there was a reasonable size desk to work at. I was on the third floor and while I could hear other guest moving around there was no noise from outside. The wifi is not necessarily included (but it was for the deal the company had with this hotel). The buffet breakfast was fine. I ate dinner at the hotel one night and had a "Thai curry" which was a bit industrial and the bar staff had no idea what was in it. The staff were friendly and helpful. Better off eating out probably.

Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming; room comfortable and breakfast ok but didn't like the muzak very much. Location central, could walk from railway station. Perfectly acceptance place to stay. Recommendation for somewhere to eat: Jewel in the Crown about 5 to 10 minutes walk away.

Nice hotel...central to rail station ..but breakfasts a little over-priced I feel.
My Grumpy old other half ...HAD to do the "Full English" thing ...cost = £10 ...
I, chose the continental=£6.50.
Full English = Bacon& Eggs etc ...HOWEVER ...
Continental = Cereal...Yogurt...Fruit...Hams ...Cheeses...Porridge...Pastries...FABULOUS Breads...
So I told them ...why not charge £15 per couple to have whatever breakfast they want ?
We paid Budget Prices for our 2 night stay ...but feel that we were "stung" for Overpriced breakfasts ! ....I always feel that there is "room for improvement" ...no matter what ! Nice hotel ...just not impressed with the cost of breakfast !

Room Tip: Well...we were on the 8th floor and STILL heard the traffic in the early hours ...and the blessed pe...

We visited Oxfor, Bath and Lacock and thought Swindon was quite central. We visited with our children and 2 grand children. We booked one family room and a standard double room for which we paid in full before our arrival. We arrived late and were not able to get the rooms that we booked as "the hotel was fully booked"! We were given two rooms, each with a double bed and a single bed - after much negotiations, the staff put the single mattress from our room into the room of our children, and although it was quite "full", at least the family could slept in one room. We stayed for two nights. To compensate us for the inconvenience, we enjoyed complimentary breakfast for the two days. Unfortunately, our children's car was broken into during the second night of our stay, and we were "hotel bound" until 16:00 the following day, waiting for the replacement of the two smashed windows. The hotel manager and staff were very supportive and helpful and went out of their way to make thing easier for us. Good value for the price! On the first night we had to park in a public park area, across the road from the hotel; second night we parked within the hotel parking, but securtity seems to be a problem - that was were the car was broken into!

Room Tip: Make sure that you get what you booked! The "family room" is only for three persons. Parki...

we stayed 2 nights in this hotel in May.Rooms ok but meal in resturant on 2nd night was very poor - potatoes were black and raw when cut into other veg very under cooked . Asked the waitress to bring the resturant manager - he came and took the plates away admitting that he would not eat the food . He then sent the waitress back to ask if we wanted anything else - which we declined other than asking for a bottle of wine - he never came back to us to apologise . I think this was very poor customer service .

Room Tip: rooms at the rear do not get trafic noise

Used the large meeting room at the Jurys Inn in Swindon for Board Meeting. Fantastic facilities, friendly staff - they couldnt do enough to help and were helpful but unobtrusive.

We will book there again.

Also used the restaurant bar area for a sequence of business meetings - close to the railway station, nice food (excellent steak - and I am particlar about a well cooked steak delivered hot to the table) and all on time. Staff friendly and clearly get that marshalling people arriving early with drinks etc and a running tab is what makes a busy day go without hitch. Lynne worthy of particular mention. Parking easy. Will definately use again. Thank you.

Stayed three nights in this hotel on business. And the service is terrific. Staff always ready to help and the room clean and comfortable if functional.

Watch out for the car park as you arrive it is on the left just prior to the hotel (if you are arriving from my direction) with no signpost and it's quite a trek to get back.

The breakfast however was poor. Coffee tasteless. Poor selection buffet and the pastries must have been days old. They claim to serve Costa coffee but when I mentioned the problem I was told I needed to buy one so I did. From Costa by the railway station where I had breakfast the next two mornings.
