This hotel is on a retail park but appears to be a hub of activity with a starbucks and restaurant on site.

If I was here for a romantic break id be dissapointed but for families it looks a good choice.

Room was a good size and clean, sky sports didnt work despite being advertised. Free wifi was nice though.

The staff were all very pleasant and polite and helpful when needed.

The rooms arent double glazed so if your room is above the busy bar and there is a wedding on like it was when i was there, then dont expect much sleep. to the receptionsts credit , he did try to quieten them down at 2.15am but obviously he was fighting a losing battle.

The gym is well equipped but appears to have a lot of local members and they were signing in free guests on a promotion so it was more like a leisure centre than a hotel gym and pool.

As a solo traveller just looking to get some sleep i think i may have been better off in another location. If you want to save a bit then just head down to mcdonalds in the nearby shopping centre for your breakfast as 10 quid for a breakfast is obscene (although standard in most hotels). Even the food in starbucks was around a pound more than their inflated london shop prices.

if you have kids and like a bustling hotel full of non guests then its a good choice.

Thought we'd treat ourselves to the family room plus as it had air conditioning. What a farce! The unit was antiquated and so erratically noisy that we had to turn it off and open the window. Which then meant we were kept awake by a hen night party that kept popping out to the courtyard to smoke while getting increasing drunker and louder. Eventually got to sleep at four through sheer exhaustion. Up early next morning and jump into shower to find it was broken in the scalding hot position!! Definitely not four star hotel. The furniture was chipped, mould round shower screen and curtains not fixed properly. Huge let down

I enjoy staying at the Village Swindon mainly because I feel quite at home there.
The refurbished rooms are very nice, modern and roomy.
They are dark, but that for me is part of the appeal, they have a quality feel to them.
Great widescreen TV, free WiFi, good room service, comfy bed and in my experience so far quiet making for a good nights sleep. I have to say that although the hotel web site states "In-Room Comfort Cooling" the refurbished room I had on my last visit had no cooling facility at all, it was OK on my trip as it was not a hot day, BUT had it been warm it would have made sleep difficult.
The onsite Italian restaurant (I have used for room service only so far) provides tasty, large plates of food and with quick service, there is a £3 charge for delivery which I think is not required and is not usually charged in other hotels. There is also a Starbucks onsite which is useful.
I have tried a few hotels in the area, and I prefer to stay her is rooms are available.

Room Tip: Make sure it has comfort cooling as not all rooms do.

A pleasant, comfortable hotel, helpful staff, clean, free and fast WiFi, and reasonable (buffet) breakfast. BUT . . . . this is a family hotel - lots of kids, noisy, and not relaxing. If that is what you want, this is the place for you. Otherwise, give it a miss.

This hotel is great for regular business travellers. It's reasonably priced and in a good location to get on the motorway. The food options are various and as you'd expect from a chain - most items too high in fat but that's to be expected. With a group of colleagues there are great evening options that make this the right hotel in Swindon if compared to the nearby Hilton and others.

If there is a drawback I'd have to say its the fitness centre which I like to use if I'm on my own overnight. The staff would benefit from re-training. They're young and lark around and I'm seldom acknowledged when I enter which is rude. The music choices in the gym are great if you're 17 but pretty awful for the normal clientele and way too loud for enjoyment so bring your earphones or plugs. The machines are switched off around you from 2130 onwards which is pretty unwelcoming and I watched one of the lads clean 8 machines without rinsing his mop!

Don't let this put you off - the gym staff just need some management.

I could write an essay about the hotel, especially after our 11th visit, but just read everyone else's reviews and believe them. We only live in Reading but this is our haven, perfect for families, couples, hen parties, you name it...and a great wedding venue too. Everything is in one location for a fun filled weekend, bowling, cinema, laser quest, ice skating, swimming and spa, pizza hut, McDonald's, Italian within the hotel or 2 minutes walking distance. Swindon Dogs 10 minutes drive, retail outlet close by and a fab Indian restaurant Taj Mahal opposite the hotel. This hotel is full of class, staff are great, rooms are amazing. If you have any doubts....don't!

Room Tip: All rooms are great, big or small. Family room is unbelievable.
