Our eldest daughter wanted my wife and I to come down to Swindon where she and her family live so we could take part in the street party she had organised for her local area. Considering the amount of work needed to prepare for the event (150 people), she kindly offered to pay for a hotel for us for three nights around the dates of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
When she told me that we were to stay in a Campanile, I was very wary. Only once before had I stayed in one, south of Paris, and it has to be admitted, around 20 years ago. Even so, I was still concerned that my wife and I may have a poor experience - we are very fastidious about where we stay and where we eat.
Well, what a pleasant surprise - the hotel was absolutely spot-on. The reception staff are so helpful & friendly, the restaurant, bar and public areas spotless and very stylish, and our room had all we needed for our stay. Like the public areas, it was as clean as a new pin, the housekeeping was excellent, and the breakfast a good deal.
The acid test of any establishment is - will we return? Absolutely yes - we have family in the Swindon area and the Campanile Swindon will be a regular place to put our heads down for a long time to come -More
