My first time visiting as part of a party of 10. When first entering, I was transported to a bland, white washed room, rather than the bright, warm and colourful interior you might expect from a Caribbean restaurant. When we gave our order, the waitress also appeared very cold, blunt and factual, making no apology for the lack of 'soup of the day' just stating they had none. Our starters took a long time to arrive, but perhaps more understandable, given it was a packed restaurant. When the food did arrive, it was flavoursome, generous and well presented. However, the whole experience was let down by the lack of decent customer service. We were abruptly told after our mains that we needed to leave to accommodate another party, we were given no prior warning at the beginning of the meal and no apology when told. We asked to first finish our drinks and then two minutes later we were asked again to leave with an insincere apology. A great shame, as the food was lovely. Maybe it was just the waiting staff on this particular night, but I would expect, even more so from an authentic Caribbean restaurant, warm, charming and accommodating service. Give the place a lick of bright paint and a real sense of identity, along with great staff and this place will be even more successful than it currently is.
