“Our first visit”
Reviewed 17 October 2013

We stayed here on 15th October for one night. The staff were very friendly and helpful whilst still being professional (not always easy). The room was extremely comfortable. Dinner, from a fairly extensive menu, was most enjoyable. We did ask if we could have a light on our table (the two nightlights not being sufficient) and the staff tried to accommodate us. Unfortunately it was not possible so more nightlights were brought instead.
Breakfast on Wednesday morning was superb.
We will definitely stay again.

Many thanks for your comments on here, we're really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Sorry once again that we couldn't sort out the lights on the table, but we've now got the electrician coming in to work some magic with plug sockets!
We hope to see you again soon
Many thanks

The Pear Tree at Purton is a fab place for a special meal - not desperately expensive (dinner at £35.50 for 3 courses - good choices for each course) with very reasonable drinks prices - it has a very comfortable feel - bright, attentive and efficient staff - a great location.

An ideal choice to celebrate our recent 40th wedding anniversary - will return before out 50th!

13 of us celebrated my parents 50th Golden Wedding anniversary by having lunch at the Pear Tree - this is a repeat visit for us as we came here for my father's 70th birthday a few years ago. My father is in a wheel chair therefore facilities for the disabled are a high priority. Once again Anne and her staff were wonderful and couldn't have been more attentive. We had drinks in the library which is very comfortable and as it was reserved for our party, everyone including the children were able to relax. The food as always was lovely and as it was a warm sunny day the children were able to play with the giant Jenga in the garden after lunch. Thank you for helping us to make our parents day special.

My husband and i stayed here last friday for time on our own away from the children. The service from the resturant staff was excellant, they couldnt do enough for you. Infact the whole atmosphere was just what you would want for a romantic meal.
However, we had a room overlooking the gardens (view lovely) and the balcony was a bit worse for wear, it needs a coat of paint on the metal work, the tiling around the bath needs re-grouting andthe blankets which are used instead of duvet's were really heavy and hot.
Well done staff needs a bit of TLC.

We arrived for lunch and enjoyed a delicious traditional Sunday Roast. The staff were very attentive and friendly and by the time we finished our lunch, our luggage was taken to our room already and we checked in with the greatest of ease. The accommodation is fantastic and we enjoyed the "pear" sweeties in the room :-) The gardens are beautiful and my daughter enjoyed picking black berries straight from tree to mouth. We will most certainly be back again in the near future. Thank you for making our stay a great one.

20 of us stayed to celebrate my mum's birthday. Great food, lovely staff, fabulous grounds for kids and us adults to let off steam. Anne, the owner couldn't have done more. Great attention to detail. Thank you. If you're looking for a venue for family get together, this really is the place.

A very warm welcome on arrival and helpfully shown to room and told all we needed. They have a vineyard in the grounds along with a wild flower meadow which we walked before dinner. Dinner was in the conservatory, shame they don't have lights in the garden to make the most of it, the food was excellent along with the service, we tried the sparking wine cuvée Anne from the grounds really excellent. A great breakfast in the morning before setting off to bath
