I was on business on the outskirts of Swindon. I was booked into this hotel without really knowing how desperate Swindon town centre is.
It is slightly unfair to give this hotel a complete slating as the main issue is Swindon itself.
The main problem is the car park - there isn't one! You have to park in a secure car park some 5 minutes away on foot. There is a small drop-off area at the rear of the hotel if you need to drop people off before parking. The drop-off bay is in a dingy side street near a police station. The car park costs £.5.40 if you pass your ticket to the hotel reception staff before you leave.
The hotel itself is somewhere between a prison tower and a channel ferry. The staff were friendly and check in was speedy. The rooms are okay, but the T.V and its associated system is overly complicated and the screen is of a poor size.
Breakfast was good for an Express quite a bit of choice (bagels, bananas, etc)
On leaving we got stuck in the car park by not being able to authorize our credit card in the car park ticket machine. The car park staff didn't respond initially - we were late for our meeting.
Overall I would say only visit this hotel if you absolute need to visit Swindon town centre.More
