“Home away from home”
Reviewed 28 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We have now stayed here three times while visiting family in the area. The owners couldn't be more helpful and as usual, the barn was just perfect for us. The fittings are of high quality and contains everything you need for self catering. Even though its a four bert property, I still managed to entertain and cook a three course meal for six people. That's how well the kitchen is equipped.

“Accommodation with a touch of class”
Reviewed 24 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

This is the second time my family and I have stayed at The Barn. We live and work abroad and require a good foundation for travelling in the UK to see family and friends. Our travelling involves locations such as Europe, the USA, the Caribbean and Middle East and we have quite a history with all forms of accommodation aimed at the short and long term traveler.
The Barn really is an extraordinary place to stay for a couple, small family, travelling business person or group of friends. The building’s interior and exterior is visually stunning with a wonderful garden; a bright airy living space with open wooden beams and an iron staircase leading to a balcony.
The fixture and fittings are all exceptional quality as is the welcome from the owners. My wife especially enjoys the little touches within the house that make life very comfortable indeed.
I have no hesitation in recommending The Barn for holidays, short breaks or business trips for those needing a place for the Wiltshire, Cotswold or Thames Valley area.

“Just what we needed”
Reviewed 8 April 2013 for a stay in April 2013

Sometimes when we travel to visit extended family, instead of inflicting ourselves on said beloved relatives, we opt for the remote accommodation approach. With two screen obsessed teenagers who are faddy eaters to boot, this can be a pain free alternative to sharing an already full home with our far flung friends and relations.
The Barn was a fantastic base and offered all the plusses of a self contained unit whilst also having bags of character and very friendly and accommodating owners. Pat and her husband live in the Farmhouse on the same plot, and have refurbished the Barn to an extremely high standard.
As we pulled in Pat was there to meet us, advise on parking (on the substantial gravel hard stand) and generally show us around the Barn. The lay out is simple and effective with a small, well equipped kitchen opening out to a beautiful living area that is open all the way up to the timbered ceiling thanks to the clever use of a mezzanine floor for the second bedroom. This is accessed by a spiral, cast iron staircase which the kids loved. The kids had their own en suite shower and loo but the real star was the downstairs shower room with under floor heating and a luxury shower that we used. Sadly we couldn't keep it a secret from eldest daughter who freely made use of both her and our bathroom and dropped wet towels everywhere, sigh!
Pat very thoughtfully had stocked the fridge with essentials such as eggs, milk, bread and butter as well as drinks for the kids and beers for the husband. So nice after a long drive not to have to whizz straight out to the shop. However there is a Co-op about a 100 yards up the road so provisions were readily at hand.
There is a really good strong Wifi signal that easily managed both kids devices and there's Sky T.V if anyone gets an urge to watch anything as old fashioned as a television.
I'd highly recommend this to anyone wanting a base in this part of Wiltshire. It's so much nicer than an impersonal hotel (and cheaper) and we enjoyed the autonomy of managing our own space.

“5 Star accommodation”
Reviewed 22 January 2013 for a stay in April 2012

I had occasion to stay here while on business in Swindon. A lovely stay - highly recommended. It was truly 5 star accommodation and a joy to return to following a day of work.

Unfortunately, because I was working, I didn't really get an opportunity to explore the surrounding area but, hopefully, I'll have an opportunity to do so again.

The only possible problem is that the second bedroom is on a balcony up a spiral staircase which might be difficult if privacy is required but it was ideal for my teenage son.
