Lovely pub, a really nice room, huge dinner and massive breakfast - what more could you ask for? Oh and the hosts were great too?

We visited the Heart in Hand many times over the last 3 weeks and each time we met with very friendly staff and locals and were always made to feel very welcome.
The food is wholesome and huge in portion size! We ate there on several occasions and each time the food was delicious.

We visit twice a year and look forward to dinner at this pub, on our visit this weekend it wasn't as smooth as usual.

Waited along time for service at the bar, clearly the locals take priority over visitors and a local had to tell the barmaid we were next even though she had clearly seen us waiting. Food was good as always and dessert was yummy. Just that glitch of 10/15 mins waiting to be served took the usual shine off this visit.

We went on a Friday to have a night off from cooking.

It was busy, the car park was full but we were able to find a table in a nice sunny spot.

There is plenty of choice on the menu, and we both had several dishes we would have chosen.

The staff were really helpful and friendly, and made us feel welcome.

Because they were so busy, the chef came out to apologise for the delay.

When our meals came, they were both delicious and good value for money.

I am sure we'll go there again, perhaps we'll try the Sunday lunch.

Stopped here the other week and enjoyed it.
Charming village pub, lovely friendly staff and a decent sized and comfortable room.
The pub is a typical village pub. I had a very good meal there, be warned they are not for those on a diet as they are huge! Friendly staff who have a chat with you as did one or 2 of the regulars in the pub.
Lovely views from my room and I would definitely stop there again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, nice place to stop.
