Easy to get too from the motorway and just a few miles up the dual carriageway from the outlet shopping centre.

Pam the receptionist was exceptionally good, posting our newspaper in the morning to us directly and putting details of a place nearby we had enquired about in passing under our door without requesting. She also mentioned that she has worked both saturdays and sundays for years at the premier inn as we were suprised to see her at check in the evening before and the next morning aswell. An asset to your company who should not be overlooked!!

Only critique I would have is that we were informed that we were staying in the old wing of the hotel which has no heating in the corridors. This makes walking to your room and the room itself alot colder than you would expect. Room temperature was acceptable once we turned it up in the room but spent most of the time in our room under the duvet trying to keep warm.

We went down for breakfast quite early to try to beat the rush, which we did, but upon arrival we were stood at the Wait here to be seated sign for 5-10 minutes even though the staff were not busy serving any body else. Breakfast was good and was not a problem ordering extra when needed.

All in all a good stay and I will likely be staying again. Thank you!

Room Tip: Ring up in advance to request a room in the new wing of the hotel.

The Premier Inn, West Swindon is conveniently located just off J16 of the M4, far enough away to be isolated from the traffic but close enough to make a useful stopping point. However, its proximity to the motorway means that it's less than convenient for the city centre - not sure if that's good or bad in Swindon!!

As usual the rooms were standard Premier Inn; very clean, relatively spacious with a great bed, big bath, powerful shower and a bigger-than-usual TV. However, it's difficult to pin down exactly why this particular Premier Inn felt just 'OK'...potentially being spoilt by brand-new London Premier Inns could be the reason, but this Premier Inn fell well and truly in the 'OK for a night's stay' category - which, frankly, is all I wanted to be fair.

The adjacent restaurant (Beefeater) was, again, OK - good food and good service in a large open area which was also the location for the following day's breakfast, which was a good cooked-to-order service rather than some of the bigger hotel's buffet. However, rather than have the usual 'Costa' coffee machines available (although it was if you asked) there were thermos flasks of coffee which, by 9.30am, was somewhat brewed...not sure Costa would approve of this desecration of the coffee (and brand for that matter).

The PremierInn website says this hotel is 'recently refurbished' - I can't say that I noticed to be honest, but it didn't looked worn or tired, so any refurbishment has probably achieved its aim, with the exception of the internet link (see below).

Good points, as ever, are the rooms (the beds and showers in particular), Bad points were the unbelievably-slow paid-for internet (1MB was about as good as it got, they have got to do better than that....it wasn't even fast-enough to Skype home) and the noise insulation from outside - and a particularly cheerful/chatty bird (feathered!) was ready to welcome me to the first rays of sunshine at some ungodly hour of the morning. This also meant that the adjacent industrial area was reasonably noisy from 9am onward - maybe ask for a room on the other side of the hotel, or take a slingshot for the birds to pass away the early-morning hours! (sorry RSPB!)

In summary, perfectly good enough to arrive late, fall into bed and depart early morning - which, let's face it, is all many solo-business travelers require - the proximity to the motorway was definitely a bonus. Premier Inn could update the wifi in an instant - so do so!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the opposite side to the industrial area which is noisy if you're lucky enough to get a lie-in.

As usual Premier provided as expected (Good overall), however for first and only time bed not outstanding standard previously Premier has been used repeatedly as hotel of choice purely as result of quality of beds - so this must be a one off
Staff outstanding in professional helpfull pleasant contact
Parking/Beefeater/Road network all convenient
Tip - spare pillows in wardrobe are not same as on bed

Enjoyed an overnight stay here meeting up with relatives. Rooms were clean & warm, food in restaurant was good & staff very friendly. Very convenient for motorway & town. Plenty of parking which was free.
