We stayed at the Hotel on the 9th August to attend a Wedding. Very easy hotel to find and well sign posted.
Great first impression in the Reception area very modern and Bright. Helpful staff at check in.

We booked a "King" room which was situated in the older/original part of the building, we were not disappointed - Darby III room 710. The Room was really big and the ensuite bathroom likewise, very clean and had everything you would expect in a room of that Standard - great to have a safe in the room too.

Bar area was nice and bright with plenty of seating available for all the guests. The Reception room looked lovely and well arranged. We had a lovely three course meal and the service of the staff was very good.

Breakfast is served in the Bar/Restaurant area from 8am to 11.00am and is self service with a good selection of breakfast items.

Our stay did include use of Pool and spa area but on this occasion we didn't take advantage, although many of the guests did and enjoyed it.

Overall a good hotel in a nice easy to get to location. Would recommend and would stay again.

Room Tip: Room 710 Darby III is a lovely room and in a nice quiet part of the hotel.

I purchased a Groupon voucher for a spa day at this hotel. On arrival the reception staff at the spa and at the hotel were really friendly and helpful, the changing rooms were clean and lockers were easy to use. We went into the poolside area which was very welcoming and relaxing. The swimming pool and surrounding areas were clean, the swimming pool was a reasonable size and quite warm. When we 1st went in there were only 2 other people in there and it was lovely, as the afternoon went on it became quite busy, and there were a few children in there, Whilst I understand this is a family hotel we were on a spa afternoon which was ruined by children running around screaming and throwing ice into the water from the ice fountain. Hardly relaxing !!
We also used the steam room and sauna . You cant really fault the hotel and facilities I just think the spa facilities need to be kept seperate from the family facilities.
Later in the afternoon we had coffee and danish pastry and a sandwich, lovely.
We paid £12 for our groupon voucher so I cannot complain for this price it was a bargain. I would not pay full price for spa facilities at this hotel.

We booked for a 2 night stay and got a great deal for one of the "Q Star" rooms on a bed and breakfast basis, the bedroom was very specious and plenty of storage for bags etc, the bed was large and very comfortable. The decor was nice and everywhere was very clean. The complementary drinks in the fridge were a nice touch. The bathroom again was a great size, the shower was easy to use and the water temperature constant. With the weather being so nice the air conditioning made it more comfortable.

We always try and stay somewhere with a pool, and got to say this pool is one if not the best we have experienced , we used it both days and couldn't fault a thing.

We had drinks overlooking the 18th hole, and the scenery was very picturesque

Breakfast on the Sunday was a buffet and on the Monday cooked to order, both were very tasty.

Staff we found to be very helpful and pleasant

All in all our experience was very good, and we both agreed that we would like to return to this hotel in it lovely surroundings.

Room Tip: Look out for deals on Q star short break rooms

Nice hotel with spa and golf course but I would advise booking golf or spa treatments in advance. Large pleasant rooms and dinner, bed and breakfast included in package. The food was very good - breakfast kept us going all day.

Party of 6 just back from a weekend golf/spa break. Golf course excellent, greens were true but very quick. The ladies enjoyed their spa package. Hotel generally good, rooms comfortable, dinner good but would recommend the a la carte menu over the table d'hôtel menu, you can offset your dinner allowance from the package price. Breakfast was also excellent. All the staff were very friendly. The only downside was the overpriced drinks. Would certainly come back again.

We arrived for a 3 night stay and found the welcome from the receptionist very pleasing, we arrived early so they offered to keep our luggage for us while we went out. When we checked into our room on the first floor it was what we expected apart from the room being extremely hot, obviously not the hotels fault that the weather was so warm but unfortunately the window could only be opened about an inch. I asked reception if they had a fan and when we returned it was in the room. We decided to eat in the restaurant, big mistake, I ordered the lamb rump and at £17 I thought it would be worth it, it was tough and chewy and therefore could not be eaten,my husband had the burger which he said was tasteless,I did tell the waitress when she asked if the meal was ok and she apologised and offered us complementary coffee, it never arrived so I reminded her, but unfortunately when it came it was Luke warm and so strong it was undrinkable. The location is terrific with wonderful views across the gorge, the staff are pleasant and helpful, I would go back again, just not eat in the restaurant.

Room Tip: First floor very warm, small windows
