“Added bonus of leisure facilities”
Reviewed 22 January 2012

The hotel has very spacious rooms and if booked in advance provides an ideal value getaway for the weekend. The best part of this hotel is that all guests get access to the onsite leisure facilities including pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.

The hotel site is adjoined to Telford United FC but is not really too noisy even on match day. The only minor criticisms of the experience was that slight noise can be heard from other rooms/ corridors and the bedding could benefit from a replace.

Overall great value for money (if booked in advance) and staff are absolutely top notch. On this occasion we booked room only so could sample the food!

There's nothing wrong with the staff or service but sadly the hotel is built with very thin Walls. I have just been awoken at 1:00 am by the guests next door who are perfectly entitled to play music, sing, converse and use the toilet without disturbing anyone, and would probably be horrified to know I can hear every word they say.

I booked a family room here , I was intending on using the 'soa bed' as advertised, as my partner snores, also we have a little baby. When we arrived i tried to set my bed up and it was broken with splinters all coming out of it ( not the best with a little baby crawling around) , we could not then put it back together it was so broken. When we called to complain , we got told it was there for 'decoration' and was actually'condemned' . No we did not get an apology , infact got made to feel as though it was our fault for trying to sleep on it. I think this is awful! In the end I had to sleep on a z bed next to the sofabed with the splinters coming out and it was a real squeeze with a cot. Upon departure we reitterated the fact that we were not happy and got told they were buying more sofa beds but most of themwere 'condemned'????? No apology at all!!!
On the plus side , the breakfast was lovely ,with a brilliant view and the swimming pool was great too!
I recieved an email from the hotel after my visit asking me to rate it etc , so i told them my comments and they did not get back to me , hence why I am writing this review.

Room Tip: Check you do not have a condemned sofa bed if booking family room.

Stayed here in September - thought it was very good value for money, especially as you get access to a good pool/sauna/steam room/jacuzzi facility thrown in. On the outskirts of Telford in Wellington, but lack of centrality wasn't an issue for us. Didn't eat breakfast, so can't comment on that.

Accommodation lacks anything more than the basics. For £59 a night it represents reasonable value, but it's not worth much more than that. Food ok, but again, average.
