Lovely pub for a bite to eat or just a sociable drink in friendly surroundings, good choice of food on the menu and home cooked from local produce. Excellent value and service with a smile! Highly recommend will visit again! As for the reviewer who didn't like the chips I completely disagree they were lovely as were the home made onion rings not frozen rubbish, leave room for dessert again home made and very tasty!! Thanks all at the lion!

We went to eat at the lion this evening and what a treat it was, the steaks were excellent the home made onion rings to die for and as for the home made chips they were fabulous, good piping hot and tasty well presented and staff friendly and welcoming. Definitely a hidden gem of proper home cooked traditional food, Thank you to Nat and Barry keep up the good work

Had a lovely meal at the Lion this evening, excellent size potions and great value. Nice relaxed atmosphere and nice friendly staff.
Great to have such a lovely local pub on our door step in priorslee!

This pub is perfect for cosy drinks in the winter and great for family outings in the summer, the garden offers a wonderful sized beer garden and play area for the children.

Highly recommended.

Along with many other customers we arrived in time for an anticipated opening at noon. Not so . At 12.12 with no lights on inside we left.

We do not open on Monday lunchtimes which is clearly stated on the front door of the pub!!!! Our food service runs tues-sat 12-2.30 and evening food service 6-9, perhaps you may want to visit when we are open instead of feeling the need to complain about the ONE day we're not!!!!!!??

Salmon fishcake starter,no salmon just all potato. Mains, overcooked hollow chips cooked in solid fat, (deep fried fat) cold mushrooms. Mains swimming in grease with after taste left in mouth / pallet. Overpriced softdrinks.Service ok but don't bother with the food, greasy spoon and overpriced food

Dear Paul, im sorry to hear that you werent happy with your meal, however a few things for future reference when visiting other food establishments..... it is a good idea to actually state to the staff your issue with your meal at the time rather than eating all of your meal and then leave before complaining!!!!!! Regarding your meal, our fishcakes are purchased from a local supplier so unfortunately im unable to add more Salmon for you, nothing on these premises is cooked in SOLID fat, our homemade chips are made with maris piper and wilja potatoes and then fried in rapeseed oil so not hollow unless you've come accross hollow potatoes before???????
We are a traditional pub and not a greasy spoon (that i think is still along the A5 nearer Cannock!!))
Like i said earlier im sorry you werent happy with your visit and i appreciate your constructive criticism, however i get the impression you may be a very hard gentleman to please!!!!!!!!!
