Stayed here for one night midweek as a family of 4, our children aged 5 and 2.
Room was lovely, perfectly adequate for our needs. The outdoor play area, although a little rustic kept our children amused for hours. We ate in the hotel in the evening and the food was lovely, as was the breakfast. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Would book again in an instant.

Having stayed in numerous hotels and bed and breakfasts on my travels it made a refreshing change to find one of such quality in an ideal location, the food and service in the pub was nothing but outstanding and every need was catered for, would not hesitate to recommend this location to one and all, the owners and staff deserve a pat on the back.
Excellent stay
Thankyou

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent.

We stayed Mon-Sat, and the room was cleaned daily. Breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked to your order, and enough to keep you going all day.
The bar gets very busy as popular, so if intending to have an evening meal, worth booking a table.
The portions are huge, and the puddings divine....you cannot watch your waistline here! The food is all fresh and tasty, and well priced.
Plenty of parking adjacent to Inn, and easy walking distance to local museums. If walking into Ironbridge would recommend crossing at the Memorial Bridge and taking the back footway, a lovely stroll.
The staff are all very helpful, so much so that my other half left his pork pie, bought from famous shop in Ironbridge, in their fridge....hope they have eaten it!

Room Tip: Rooms 3 or 4 may have better luck with the wi-fi signal

Staying in Coalport and ate here on the 19th.

Overall - excellent. The pub is busy but they accommodated us no problem.

The portion size was huge! They served rice and chips with most things. However, the quality was also good and excellent value.

Good for kids and the staff were excellent with my 2.

Stayed in a cottage in Ironbridge with a disabled gentleman in a wheelchair. The cottage literature had said visit Shakespeare inn as the food was good. We went on a Tuesday night early about 7.10 pm. We duly parked and supported our gentleman to transfer from his car to his wheelchair. We found a spot in garden courtyard in front and I went in to order drinks and get a menu. On asking for a menu from a lady in the inside bar, I was told they were very busy and had no tables. I said we would be prepared to wait as we had a disabled wheelchair user with us. I was told there was no way they could fit us in even though food was served till much later.
While I realise it was busy, don't know why so busy on a Tuesday evening, it caused us more issues having to re-load wheelchair and move on. Would suggest you book if wishing to go not just assume a pub would do food. However, we duly moved on to another pub where we had a short wait but could get food. We had passed the pub on numerous occaisions and looked at the menu and I did not see any recommendation that customers had to book. Planning to visit area again shortly, nit sure I would chance this again.

Loved this place. Placed good in the middle of Ironbridge Gorge area and very close to the Tar tunnel and the China museum. Friendly staff, good food in the pub (not the standard pub menu - much better). Seems to be a lot of locals dropping by as well which adds to the genuine feeling of the place. Room was lovely. Clean and well equiped. It's an old house with all that comes with that but it is a high class place to stay in. Loved every minute!

Some friends and we two stayed here for three nights. The rooms were reasonably spacious and well furnished. Although they were on the main road, we were not disturbed at night. We had been warned on arrival that a big party were dining that evening, so we got to a table at eight. The whole downstairs was absolutely heaving, and so noisy we could hardly hear one another. We had to wait a while for our food, but when it came it was really very good indeed. The same thing happened on the next two nights. Apparently, all three groups were teachers celebrating the end of term. The last evening was a disappointment. We had to wait until 9.30 to start our dinner and we were next to about a dozen young women whose conversation levels bordered on hysterical. We all felt that, as residents, we should have had priority over these groups. Breakfast was a different matter. The food was good, and we ate undisturbed Would we go there again? Yes, but not when term ends.

Room Tip: All the rooms were fine
