Not sure whether to eat in or order a takeaway. Ordered food in off the internet. Food was delivered quickly and was, tasty, hot and good value for money and seemed to be freshly prepared.

This restaurant has moved away from the Wingspan Club, so don't do what I did drive down on the recommendation of previous reviews. What a pity

Going through some of the reviews for restaurants in Crawley, I was surprised at how highly people rate some of the run of the mill (and expensive!!) curry houses in Crawley (Blue India and Taj Mahal being cases in point) that I felt obliged to post a review on the Bombay Grill, which, although I don`t live in Crawley (had to get that in:)) ), I have frequented for some time now.

This place was recommended to me by someone who knows a thing or two about Indian food.Ok, Its not the sort of place where you would want to take someone on a first date but the food, apart from being very reasonable, is among the best Indian Cuisine to be found in Crawley. Its located bang in the middle of an Industrial estate and can be quite hard to find for first time visitors but, believe me, the food more than makes up for it. Its attached to the Wingspan Club/Pub, which is where all the British Airways employees who work at Gatwick hang out when off duty. The interior decor is nothing remarkable- the sort one would expect in any pub, with the occasional Indian print to remind you that its an Indian restaurant. The service, though adequate, is nothing to write home about, given the fact they seem perpetually understaffed.

So what about the food, you may ask..Well, the food is delicious and the portions are generous but most importantly, it tastes very authentic, which is not always the case with most 'Indian' restaurants in the UK, as anyone who has travelled to the subcontinent would agree-I think the fact that the restaurant employs genuine Indian cooks (I clarified this at my first visit) rather than pretend-Indians from Bangladesh might have something to do with it.

So in summary- Its not one for romantic evenings for two but if your prioritise food over ambience, Bombay Grill is a far cheaper and a vastly superior option to some of better know curry houses in the Crawley/Gatwick area.
