I go to Tilgate Park every week. This is for a FREE 5k parkrun starting at 9am. Over 300 runners take part and get to see what a fantastic Park it is. The Lake has swans, ducks, there is a Canoe Club and there is a "Go Ape" Centre for children and adults alike. There is a lovely kids playground as well as an amazing Animal Centre. The Golf club next door has a driving range and there is a Smith & Western restaurant. All in all it is a fantastic park for young and old alike (and don't forget the parkrun held there every Saturday morning at 9am)

My husband grew up in Crawley, before his family moved to Australia when he was 9, so our trip to the UK was after 47 years for him! We took in all the familiar sites for him - old home, school, shops etc, and then wandered across to Tilgate Park. Of course it has changed dramatically since he was a boy, but at the same time, it was as familiar to him, as when he was a wee lad. It was the end of Winter when we visited, so a wonderfully crisp morning, which turned into a glorious clear day. We took in the magnificent grounds, chatted to dog walkers, watched squirrels, wandered around the animal/wildlife park, ate at the fabulous restaurant up on the hill - which was strangely, an American/cowboy themed restaurant - but boy, was it good. The food was sensational!

People queried why we had chosen to stay so far out of London, but it was for personal reasons, obviously. But, we are so glad we did. Crawley is a great town, with gorgeous, authentic old pubs, new restaurants, and the fabulous Tilgate Park.

We visited one of the oldest church's in the town, and they even have a resident fox living on the grounds - a very old fox, but it was wonderful to see he was a welcomed resident.

We will definitely choose to stay in Crawley again!

Apart from the Nature Centre and lovely walks round the lake to feed the ducks, they've added a new "wooden adventure playground"-type thing, which our six year old daughter wanted to play on 24/7.

We were so impressed with this park . There is a wonderful play area for the kids or if you want to spend more the children can do the" go ape walk" . There is a lovely lake in the park that you can take a boat ride for around £8 for half an hour . We loved that . There is a nature park which had a lovely cafe and that was lovely and cheap. We also walked around the peace garden which had little bridges and hidden nooks to have a picnic. The toilet facilites at the car park were lovely and clean and lots of them . Remember to have £3 ready when you enter the car park. We had fun and will be back.

I went there as part of a networking event and can only recommend it for large groups. Its challenging but very enjoyable and the staff were excellent. They were encouraging and had lots of banter with everyone. Definitely recommended.
