I haven’t visited this hotel for almost 15 years, and it would seem that any investment my the owners hasn’t visited either. It looks exactly the same as it did all those years ago.
Although the overnight rate is low, like everything else in life, you pay for what you get.
Located 8.5 kilometres and two motorway junctions south of Gatwick, it is a good 15 to 20 minutes away from the airport itself, depending on the traffic and the time of day. The M23 runs along the back of the hotel, so open the window, and the traffic noise is not insignificant.
Parking and internet were free.
Food was simple, pub grub, and reasonable, but not exceptional or memorable, neither good nor bad.
Originally styled as a Spanish “hacienda” the dark wood used throughout the hotel now looks dirty, sticky, dusty or a combination of all three!
I wouldn’t stay here and wouldn’t recommend it to others. A Premier Inn offers a better standard for a similar rate.
