.... and I've traversed much of the planet with business! Horrendous stench of damp through the ground floor corridors, which continued into the room itself. This being because room walls were riddled with damp, seemingly coming via the bathroom & whatever it was lurking in the corridors. Talking of the bathroom, it was absolutely filthy with hairs, mould, dust, rust and damp ~ again! Room decor looked like it hadn't been touched or updated since the 70's & was extremely dirty. Breakfast was plentiful but, ummm, pretty rank :/ It was a real shame as we loved the building structure, and the gardens, such a shame that neither the building, nor the staff, felt to have been respected & treated as they should ~ which reflected in the service of all but one member of staff. A lovely chap from Africa (whose names now escapes us), but he kept a smile on his face, held visitors babies in his arms as their parents helped themselves to food & he was most helpful. I take my hat off to that young man for literally being able to "keep a smile when all else around him was falling down" ! I stress again, I've never had to write a bad review about anywhere, but this place really was a massive disappointment...

Room Tip: Do not take room 1188 (or any on that side of the ground floor!!!)

There is not a great deal to be said unfortunately, the rooms are functional and kept to an average standard. Parking is horrendous the staff seem helpful, the bathrooms need sprucing up considerably. The cleaners seem to fail to clean spillages in the rooms and there are many growths on table edges and splash marks near bins.

We stayed here before we went on our holiday (we nearly didn't on the basis of the awful reviews!). It was cheap, in fact a bit of a bargain - £109 for dinner, bed and breakfast, parking and transfers for the five of us - oh and a bottle of wine too. No it wasn't spotless but the beds were clean, the room was clean, the food was fine, the car was safe and the transfer buses ran on time. What more do you want in a transit hotel. The poor staff get so much flak from fellow travellers that they simply look terrified if you speak to them. No I wouldn't recommend it as a base for a holiday or somewhere to stay more than one night but I would stay there again as a transit hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed in the main hotel not Brittania Lodge so I cannot speak for that part of the hotel. It was...

The hotel itself has been a mixed bag the reception staff that greeted us have been warm and friendly the entire week, ive been happy with what i have paid for in general, the food is decent to good not enjoyed the bacon in the mornings or the eggs not cooked in a standard way and are as chewy as a cereal bar.. the dinners in the evening have been much better and are literally all you can eat and great value, the hotel is a bit minty in some areas some cleaners are lazy there is not a shred of doubt about this as i have pointed out a sweet necklace had been trodden in the hall yesterday direct to the cleaners and it was still there today.. it took 3 complaints to the staff to get my room cleaned .. today they knocked the door and asked if i wanted it cleaned as they realised i will not take the room being dirty. Place could do with a lick of paint and new carpets the restaurant area is clean and modern. Lovely swimming pool and spa/ sauna facilities have enjoyed using these a lot this place could be a great hotel if some investment was put into it, Can be loud, a wedding happened here over the weekend and that was not very pleasant yesterday it was quiet and warm and met some great friendly people... major problem here for me has been that the free wifi has not been connectable in my room, i have had to come down to the lobby each time i need to use the net.

Room Tip: Dont choose smoking side

I stayed at this hotel on the 21st July 2013, with my family.
The rooms smelt damp, it's also unclean, hair in the bath, toothpaste in the sink, with a broken bed
We left our car in their car park, only to find it had been scratched when we returned...I complained to the manager, but he did not care and said go to the police. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

Room Tip: Our friends stayed at the Hilton in Gatwick for the same price.

This isn't a hotel! It should be shut down! Wish we never booked! Rooms are awful! They provide what they think is a bed?? More like a vertical drop bed! Feels like your sleeping on a hard floor! We had to get up for our flight 1:30am! With 2 kids and was exhausted! Dirty and horrible! Hated every minute! We complained on check out and an email will be sent to the manager! Discussing place!

We stayed 14th July for one night, taking advantage of the park and fly offer. There was 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 children. Room was adequate for our needs, clean and plenty of towels, extra pillows ect. Food was good, transfer service to airport and back was good, car remained safe, finding a space when we first arrived wasn't an issue at all, there was plenty of spaces at 2pm and also going into the evening. Overall for the price we paid it suited our needs for an overnight stay and we would recommend this hotel for the park and fly option.
